Mmmmmm good cookies!

Here’s a recipe for great, super easy cookies.

Zette’s 7 layer cookies:
1 stick of margerine
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup crushed nuts (any kind)
6 oz (half a bag) semi-sweet choc chips
6 oz butterscotch chips
1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1 can semi-sweet condensed milk

in a 13x9 pan, melt margerine. Mix crumbs and margerine and spread over the bottom of the pan. Layer all the rest of the ingredients in order- bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until LIGHTLY browned. Let cool COMPLETELY before cutting. Makes 24 bars.

Way yummy and easy.

What’s a butterscotch chip?

Any kind? :frowning: Oh my. zips up pants

Green Wreath Cookies:

4tbsp butter
6cups marshmallows
4-5 cups Corn Flakes
green food coloring
redhots

*melt butter & marshmallows together
*add green food coloring till it is dark “holly colored”
*Add corn flakes and stir.
*turn out onto waxed paper in 2 inch cookies.
*add red hots for decoration.

They are delicious, and add an attractive touch to a cookie plate for Santa.

(Warning: if you eat too many, your poop will turn bright green. If this happens, do not go to the emergency room!! They will laugh at you. Drink a bunch of water and go to bed.)

I always bring these to potluck events when I feel like showing off (otherwise, it’s good ol’ chocolate chip):

Heat oven to 350. Grease an 11x7 or 9x9 pan.

Mix together:
1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp vanilla
3/4 cups flour

Press dough into pan and bake 10 mins; cool. Meanwhile, mix:
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup coconut
2 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Pour over pastry and smooth. Bake for another 20-25 minutes.

Frost with powdered sugar and lemon juice.

Sticky, crumbly, and a lot of trouble, but well worth it!

Hey, Zette -
I like your recipe - except for Christmas, I always like to substitute the red & green M&Ms for the chocolate & butterscotch chips. Actually, the thing I like best about this recipe is the endless variations it allows! - Sue

I’d post a cookie recipe here, but since I had to pay Mrs. Fields, Inc. $250 for it…
