MMP - As serious as a heart attack.

It’s quarter to 2 on Sunday, and so far I have:

Showered
Watched TV
Eaten lunch

Go me! Hehehe.

I so want to bake - but I think it’s for the best that I don’t. The way I figure, I’ll be baking later this week with my nephews, so I’d rather minimize any cookie figure damage before I get there.

Susan

Sure! You should know, though, I flunked 8th grade home ec. I own a sewing machine, but, I’ve never actually made any clothing with it. I do know how to thread it. I’ve made button holes and sewed on buttons with it. I’ve patched my hubby’s tattered sweats. And I’ve made several little velvet drawstring bags to hold polished rocks… is going from drawstring bags to a wedding dress really such a leap?
Maybe I’ll get motivated this afternoon.

Well…I’ve been to church and brunch and then played around with some software I stumbled across that should do exactly what I’ve been looking for.

It’s called OmniOutline and does a really nice job of creating prioritized lists of all kinds with lots of sublists and additional columns and such. I have all sorts of tasks that need to be organized. I’m also thinking it’s what I’ll use to organize recipes until I find something I like better. You can actually attach documents to rows so that I can organize the recipes I have and attach individual documents in whatever format I have them in. All the other software I’ve looked at (I’m limited to Mac-compatible stuff for now) is either harder to enter recipes into or impossible to share. This way I can organize what I already have electronically (I have several formats - Word, PDF, JPG, maybe more) and eventually get the recipes I really use into a single format.

I’ve also started a load of wash and gotten a phone call from Far-Away Best Friend telling me that my goddaughter expects me to arrive fully awake and energized so that she can tell me everything that’s going on in her life. Hope I can sleep on the plane. Goddaughter was also pretty upset that I’m not getting there sooner. She’s almost 12 and it’s nice to know she still misses me.

Well…off to try to be 1/4 as productive as FCM.

GT

gt, let me tell you about the productivity of my last 2 hours. I folded a load of underwear. Then I went on line and found the instructions for setting the time on my husband’s watch - what an illogical mess THAT was! And that’s been my last 2 hours.

Now I’m going to dust. Finally. sheeesh.

That’s what they all say. :frowning: (or said, I’m no longer in that market.)

I’m doing absolutely nothing today 'cause the gout has me hurting so much I just want to curl up and cry. I think it’s one or more of my new meds. I’ve also had stomach pain and nausea for the last few days. And I can’t take my NSAIDs for the gout 'cause one of my heart meds warns about the risk of bleeding, and I’ve already had a couple of nosebleeds. I have got to call my doctor tomorrow! Sucks to be me today.

You’ve all been more productive than me. Let me see:

I made a pot of coffee, cruised the net, played spider solitaire, read the paper, cruised the net some more, and have just gotten out of the shower. I am a real slug compared to all of you.

I need to get started on the house; but I walk out to the main area of the house, look around and just sorta sigh. I’m one of the world’s best procrastinators.

Mr. Taters told me he’s going to put the lights up on the house. I hope he does get them up today. We’re a week away from Christmas.

I better get myself motivated to actually accomplish something.

Criminy Bumba! You do need to get into the doctor, ASAP! Call the doc first thing, please.

Okay, don’t want to sound like a nag, so I’ll stop…for now. I’m just worried about you, pal.

Bumba, dang! Stop it! Get better! Quit hurting - I mean it!!

Dusting done, vacuuming done, ribs pretty much falling off the bones - I need to come up with a side dish or two. It smells yummy in here!

I just realized that I promised you a story at 11, and never delivered that story.

Well, the story goes something like:

??? and I enter Gap, looking for clothing. I tell ??? that he gets to dress me, because he has more clothes sense than I do. He does this, I go put it on in the fitting room. ??? likes it, I like it, and so does homo #1, who happens to work there. ??? and I look around a bit more, because special things happen if you spend 75 dollars (free 15 dollar coupony thing for my next visit). We find a shirt that I like, but they only have it in small and medium, and not large, like I need. So we go ask homo #1. Homo #1 asks homo #2, who finds it at a different store.

::time passes, I find a couple of other things::

Time to check out, and we go to homo #1. Homo #1 gives me two extra of the 15 dollar coupons, a free 10% discount, and refunds the shipping for the shirt for me. It was exciting.

Well, Wifey reminded me that the clinic where my Doctor works has an on-call answering service, so I called, and my Doctor was on call. He said I could take the NSAIDs anyway, and if that didn’t work, I could call in the morning and get a script for prednisone. So I’ma gonna get some sleep tonight.
Okay, I.'m done whining. Thanks for the sympathy guys.

It was blowing and snowing here a little while ago, then it sounded like hail, and now I’m not sure what’s going on outside, but I’m glad I’m not out in it. I think I’ll hobble back to the couch and read my book some more.

Bumba, I’m glad you checked in. I hope things work with you taking that medication.

Today is a perfect book reading day; unfortunately, I don’t have any to read right now. I’ve read all the books I own; some of them several times. I’m going to get Claudius, the God. I read I, Claudius and really enjoyed it.

We don’t have blustery cold, but it is cold. The frost hasn’t gone away for days and I STILL have patches of snow from the snow we got two or three weeks ago. So, it’s been a bit cold here lately. They say it’s supposed to warm up here, and we’ll probably see rain on Christmas. So, no white Christmas again. That’s par for the course here, though.

I’m hungry. I’ve got some chops thawing and I’m gonna shake and bake them. We’ve got a friend over right now though, so dinner will have to wait for awhile.
Those ribs FCM was talking about sound really tasty.

Well…I’ve taken all my presents in to work, gone to get what I think is the last of what I need to take with me, and done several loads of laundry. I still need to do Christmas cards and review a document for work (guess which one I really don’t feel like doing?).

I’m thinking I’m going to leave work early tomorrow to get my last few errands run and then do some work in the evening; I’m tired and really want to get to bed early tonight.

No fair on the extra coupons and discounts cb! Although I guess I can’t complain since I got a $10 coupon at World Market the other day. Used it up the next day, of course.

Glad you called the doctor, Bumba! Hope the gout goes away quickly! Sounds like no fun.

Off to finish a few things (maybe I’ll at least get my card list updated) and then get to bed…
