MMP - As serious as a heart attack.

Get well Bumba and take care of yourself

Have I told you all that I go on vacation in 22 hours?? Have I? Have I?

:Bounces wildly off the walls:

I have told everyone here at work and now they are throwing things - can’t imgagine why

Awwwww! You two are so cute!

You ate WHAT? With all that talk of looking at cats, I thought you said you ate kitties.

Nice pottery, at least. Glaze has to be one of the most mystical substances - it goes on (usually) something more or less milky white, and only once the piece comes out of the kiln do you know what you actually got.

What should I eat for dinner? Stuffed peppers? Pesto butternut squash (it has cheese in/on it so it becomes a meal)? Or skettie with Italian sausage?

You’re asking the woman who ate candied sweet potatoes (and nothing else) for dinner last night. But I say go with the skettie.

Dinner here at FairyChatEstates tonight will be navy bean soup. I make killer navy bean soup. Don’t you wish you were dining here??

Um… no. I don’t like any kind of beans except green beans. Sorry. My parents are still disappointed that they raised a picky eater.

Yes, I don’t drool on the table or anything. Most days. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fine. More for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t think for a second that I’m not still stalking you. :stuck_out_tongue:

I vote for stuffed peppers. It’s been ages

We’re having fried chicken legs and bresteses, smashed taters (N.O.T.!) and canned green peas. Mmm.

I’m sick of work and it’s only Monday. I’m off for a week starting next Tuesday though.

(I didn’t say it this morning, but great MMP Bumbazine! Tell us more stories. I’m very sorry you had to go through it, but you are a great story-teller!

taxi78cab and Anaamika, I’m all for a mini Dopefest lunch in Albany this weekend. It would have to be this weekend though, as my last final is next Monday night, and I’m gone the following morning. You both probably know better than I where’s a good place to eat, but I have been to the Albany Pump Station and the food there was delicious.

My dinner tonight will be whatever they have in the dining hall (Russell Sage). Tofu Tim’s always got my back with something vegetarian.

And now, the physics ninja goes on the prowl, stealthily and sneakily slitting the throats of problems once thought intractable.

[The cat forgave me. She just sat on my lap.

Evening, everyone. I’m going to crash with a book for a bit, and then make dinner and do chores in preparation for Other Quasi-Daughter’s immanent arrival.

I’ve decided what I want for Christmas. URL=http://www.wildaboutcats.org/p_cat9.jpg]I want a Manul cat. Don’t you want one too? Widdle cute kitty.

So what if they’re wildcats. They’re FUZZY!

Stupid coding.

Well, the process has begun. FCD is really missing his cat - he wants another. So we’ve begun the search. He thinks he wants a Siamese. I found a local rescue and they have a kitten who we’re quite interested in meeting. She’s under a year old, which is what we want, and her description sounds great. So we’ve submitted an application. They also want our vet to fill out a form and we needed to provide 2 references. Dang!

Fingers crossed…

Now, Bumba, you know we would’ve let you start the MMP even without a dramatic autobiographical narrative, right? Already sent hugs in the last MMP, but here’s a few more for both you and Mrs. Bumba. And yay for nurses and docs!

It stinks that you had to go through all that, but as others said, the OP was great.

gotti, I liked your messages. I think they got their inspiration from my team. We do QA and user acceptance testing and our standard announcement when something needs to be moved into our test region and we need to get out is “Everybody out of the pool.” Of course, that’s shouted and not on-screen, but apparently someone’s been listening to us… We only have one application left that runs off of a mainframe; its messages aren’t nearly as humorous, but they do look just like what you typed.

donkeybear, you & ??? (does he have an acronym yet?) make a very cute couple. Congrats! Now I have to go back and look at your puzzle. Something like :{ → :D, right? It makes perfect sense now that you’ve explained it. And contains a shockingly low level of TMI.

Very cute kitty, Lissla. I’m sure it’s unimportant that it’s wild.

Oh and FCM, you can just assure the cat people that your prospective cat already has a worldwide fan club who will make sure that s/he is treated right and oooooh and aaaaah over all the cute kitty pictures. I’m sure that’ll help, right? Or we could even be one of your references. Slightly unconventional, but still…

I got to see the pottery preview in the old MMP, but it’s still cool…

Oh…and Delores…“N.O.T.!” cracked me up.

How can it be Monday night and time for bed already? I still have lots to do, but…it’ll have to wait till tomorrow.

GT

Where are you going? I’m prepared to be insanely jealous.

I’m sorry I’m not a very good host, posting the OP and then ducking out of town for several hours, but I’m back now.

First off, thank you for all the hugs and good wishes my friends. You’re what keep me coming back here.

I’ll try to address your question in order.

purple haze; I’ve been put on Plavix, Toprol, Lisinopril, and aspirin. These are to keep my blood thinned, my blood pressure down, and help my body to accept the stent. I was already taking Gemfibrozil.
The most frightening part of this was that I coulda died.
I’m 58.
I had been feeling crappy for some weeks now, but I didn’t have any idea my heart might be compromised.
I’ll see my regular Doctor tomorrow morning and I’m to see the Cardiologist again in about six weeks. I should have some better info tomorrow about diet, exercise, etc. my diet is already pretty healthy, except for the chocolate. What can I say? I’m an addict. I have been slacking on the exercise lately though.

Snakes, I may write up some more about being on the floor later, if there’s enough interest, and if I can remember enough to flesh it out enough.

Thanks for the info Picu, I don’t remember anyone saying anything about TPA, but I do recall someone asking if I was allergic to morphine, so I suspect they gave me some of that. There was a lot going on all around me and I was somewhat distracted, so I’m sure I missed a lot.

I know they weren’t pretending, but it sounded better that way, and I have darned shapely gams, I’ll have you know.

Riggs, cut-and-paste away with my blessings. Just so long as I get my byline.

Kalhoun, your comment is noted, but without going into a whole lot of detail, it was my considered opinion that I was safer in my car with my wife than in an ambulance from the local fire department. BTW, we live less than ½ mile from the hospital.

Drae, I think the smilie for a sexually frustrated female is :{ B.

FCM Siamese are very, very mouthy. I’m just sayin’.

Geez, Bumba…you’re a tough one! I’m glad you’re recovering, as I’ve said before.

chaoscubby, you’re adorable together!

Well, I went to the emergency room tonight to get my leg ulcers looked at. They poked me and pricked me and ultrasounded me. I have ulcers (3) and cellulitis. I have no blood clots in my leg arteries (good news). I have a prescription for penicillin and orders to make an appointment with my PCP by Wednesday.

Then they sent me home. So I’m here. And working tomorrow to maintain supervisory goodwill for when I need to take time off on Wednesday to see a doctor.

DonkeyBear, seein’ how you have a main squeeze, we have to presume you’re finally getting some. Should we change your name to BoinkingBear?
