MMP - As serious as a heart attack.

jayjay the no blood clots is good news. Watch out for that cellulitis though. That stuff can get nasty. Since you’re on my list of dopers I wanna…err… well, you know, you gotta keep healthy, ok?

donkeybear maybe he can help keep you warm while you hide in the bushes then.

FCM the licorice pot is f-aaaaaa-bu-lous! The other stuff is great too but I’m particularly taken with that one.

Bumba just keep yerself well, ok?

Tonight is chicken ‘n dumplin’ night at the swampcave. A couple of friends are comin’ over to eat and afterwards, ACBG, them (they?) and I are going to ride around and look at Christmas tacky. I, of course, have done some scoping out of must see places. I’m all thoughtful like that. This is my most favorite of Christmasy things to do.

Last night, my bestest friend made use of the $50 Bennigan’s gift card she won at her office and took me out to dinner. Mmmm, steak. And mashed taters (N.O.T., of course–Thanks Dolores!) and some rice and some Death by Chocolate for dessert. Then I went home and did nothing I was supposed to, which made me feel good and bad at the same time.

I also got this perfume I’d ordered–I don’t normally wear perfume, but this stuff is supposed to be some sort of pheromone that smells different on everybody and attracts others. There was nobody in the house to attract, but let me tell you, my cat could. not. get. enough. of me. Here’s hoping it works on all male animals. Well … maybe not all, but the ones with all their teeth who don’t live with their mothers.

So, let’s see … yay for jayjay and no blood clots (and don’t get too worked up tonight while screaming at the effing Weavers) … I would love to hear Bumba’s floor stories (which kinda rhymes and is fun to say) … Siamese cats are very mouthy, FCM, but I like 'em that way, myself … and gardentraveler, you asked last week and I never got you an answer–the Harry Potter Scene-It Game (which was only thirty bucks at Toys R Us).

I vote for either Shalimar’s buffet or Ali Babba. Since it’s the weekend, Troy will be closer for both of us, and not too far for Mika.

Good luck with finals and stuff. Physics exams always suck.

Lissla, those are just about the cutest kitties I’ve ever seen. They’re on my Christmas list now too! (Along with a pair of fuzzy slippers.)

I ended up going with the peppers for dinner last night and stuffed them with some of the Italian sausage. Yum! There’s one left over for dinner tonight too. Double yum!

I just submitted my resume to a company out in Minneapolis. I was planning to wait until spring since **KeithT **won’t be moving out there until July. But a kind Doper told me about a position that’s available now so I sent my resume. We’ll see what happens. I don’t really want to move to Minnesota in the dead of winter - though it’s almost 20 degrees warmer there than here right now! - but if I get a job offer, who am I to complain? And if not, I’ll go back to the looking-for-a-job-next-spring plan. I’m nervous about leaving behind everything I know, but the more I learn about that area, the more excited I’m getting about moving out there. And although it pains every feminist bone in my body to say this, I’m really looking forward to not living alone any more.

Ali Baba is good too, I’ve eaten there before, and it’s about a 5 minute walk from my dorm.

Yeah, I’ll need a pinch of luck to get me through the last vestiges of this semester. Three classes left to finish. Of those three, one is essentially in the bag and I know I have an A. Another has a test (not a final) on Thursday, and I’m confident I can rock that. The last one, however, is my graduate course, methods of theo. physics. I didn’t fail the midterm, but I didn’t do very well on it either, and I essentially need a perfect final in order to get an A in the course. So if I start spouting equations at you on (Saturday? Sunday? I have no preference) you’ll know why.

You in, Anaamika?

Lissa … I WANT ONE. That’s all I have to say about that.

You know, it’s high time I got my physics GRE score (I took the test November 12). I think today I will check to see if I can call the slow-as-black-molasses-on-midnight-in-January-at-the-North-Pole ETS to get my score. My physics professor told me yesterday that if I got even a 50th percentile, I’ll be competitive at all the grad schools to which I’m applying.

Oh, and best wishes for a speedy deliv-- recovery, jayjay.

Dadburn Internet service carrier, mekka fretz grum dum whatta!!! Just as I was gonna post…kablewi!

So, like I was sayin:

bumba, you made me laugh with the frustrated woman emoticon. Apparently your sense of humor is very healthy.

fcm, I think siamese are adorable. They just like to talk a lot is all.

bonkeydear, you two look very sweet together.

ems, I hate you.

Last night was poke chops and baby spinach. It was good. The spinach kinda went right through me, though. I’m just sayin is all.

Tonite will be a chicken night and maybe some rice.

It’s still cold. :frowning:

We’re having the first of our Santa’s Kitchens at work today. The theme of this one is Hawaiian food. (Don’t ask me what that’s got to do with Xmas) It will be interesting to see what the food will be but I don’t think it’ll be whole roasted pig. Maybe I’ll go buy some Elmers glue and put it in a bowl and tell everbody it’s poi. Hee, hee.

Tupug

Great gooley-mooglies Bumba! (I just now read the OP.) You are never allowed to do anything like that again! (The heart attack, not OPing the MMP- you can do that any old time you want.) Capice? (Like you didn’t know that, but I felt like being emphatic about things.)

Get better and stay better.

Hey, something gross happened at work yesterday. Ya wanna read about it? (If you don’t, just stop reading this now.)

OK.

There was this one dog in. He was a big stupid yellow Lab. Dumb as a brick, but sweet. You know, they way yellow Labs are. Anyway he was in to get his nut-job done. No big. But he didn’t wake up from the anesthetic so much the well. He flailed around a bit. In the flailing, he yanked his IV line, and by the time he was non-drunk enough to deal with things, well he had the whole line disconnected from his catheter. So he had a big whack of blood all over his leg. While he was still too drunk to deal with. (Until a dog gets most of the way over getting knocked out, you really can’t mess with them because they are too unpredictable. Someone (in this case me) could get hurt.)

So. He thought it would be a good thing if he started to clean himself up. Lick, lick, lick on his bloody-messy leg. That still had the catheter in it, so there was more blood coming out. (In little drops, so he wasn’t in any danger of bleeding to death or nuthin’.)

Finally he was stable enough we could fix up his leg. (We just took his IV fluids away and took the catheter out and we were done with things.)

Then he was pacing around in his cage like he had to “go out”. So I took him out. (But he didn’t have to “go out” since he “went” while we were knocking him out for the nut-job. While I was shaving the “surgical site”. It was fun for everyone involved!) (No, it wasn’t.) Then, since we didn’t have to “go out” I brought him back in and put him back in his cage. Where he puked.

Remember his bloody leg he was licking? Yeah, he had a tummy full of snot and half-congealed blood. A real gooey sticky mess. That was cascading down the front of the cage. And I got to clean it up. Right before lunchtime.

But I did a good job and got everything cleaned up.

The dog was fine.

rue, it was the poi reference, wasn’t it?

I often wonder how yellow labs make it to old age with such tiny brains. Sweet as candy, but dumb as spoons. I once saw my friend’s dog (his name was Windsor–a very grand-sounding name for a dog dumber than Dubya and Dan Quayle’s love child) joyously attack one of those fake toddlers that you stand in a corner (where it looks like they’re hiding and crying–what kind of decoration is that? My mom has one, and upon first glance I asked her what my nephew had done to earn himself a time-out. I digress). Anyhoo, poor dumb Windsor attacked a stuffed toddler and licked it within an inch of its stuffed life before realizing it wasn’t a real person who was going to pet him.

snogs chaoticbear, will give him plenty and lots of nookie at any point in time

Oh… uh… I broke my foot!

No really. I tripped over my own two feet (and you’d be oh, so surprised how often that happens) and did a faceplant on the floor, and somehow banged up my left foot, because the next moment I remember is yowling with pain–actually yowling, a loud angry whimper-shriek–hissing through my teeth, and banging the floor in pain with the heel of one palm, like a toddler throwing a tantrum. Yeah, it hurt that bad.

I was hobbling around for the next few days (and still am), limping and sore. I’m not sure if it’s just a really big bruise or something fractured, but I’ll go to the doctor to check it out.

Kyth what are you trying to do? Skeeve the boy out? I don’t think you got the kinda bits ol’ donkeybear fancies, if ya know what I mean.

Rue, blood, snot and puke in one post. That’s like the triple crown of TMI! How jake is that!

I got me a turkey and roast beef hoagie and some Pringle’s[sup]TM[/sup] for lunch. And a bottle of grape flavored Fruit[sub]2[/sub] O to drink. I likes that stuff. The berry flavored one is good too. Now all I gotta do is wait about 45 minutes to eat cause I’ve been promised cherry cobbler for dessert if I wait til then. MMMMM… warm homemade cherry cobbler!

Yikes, Kyth! That sucks!

I’m all for Ali Babba, Spatial. (Although if you haven’t been to Shalimar, their buffet’s a really great way to try them out… it’s only on Sat. though.) Either day’s fine with me so we’ll leave it up to Mika.

Lissla, you should have posted this picture too. Cute and funny and scary all a once!

Go to the doctor today. We can’t have the goddess of love out of commission.

I think Aerin is trying to convince me that I don’t need an adorable fuzzy Manul cat. She’s on my lap again, purring.

I still need one, though. Mr. Lissar has not promised me one yet. He says they’re wild animals and besides we already have two kitties. Pthibbit. FCM, talky cats are fun. Get the Siamese and post pics.

FCM, Siamese are wonderful, affectionate cats. They will, however, talk more than your lonely great aunt Bertha on that yearly Christmas visit. My Siamese, Valentino, is as beautiful as a sunrise and as dumb as a sack of carrots. He talks to himself!!

Lissla, I want one of those kitties, too! But I’ll have to wait until I get the squeakers weaned and on to new homes.

OK…I am sitting in a long and boring resource meeting however I have 2 hours till I am outta here for 3 weeks!!!

Spatial I get to home to the UK for CHristmas for the first time since 2000 and I am ridiculously happy about it :D:D:D:D:D

Today at work I read the paper, added to my wish list on amazon and nothing else…oh apart form driving everyone insane with my countdown. THey all love me really - I am sure I will be missed while I am gone!

Ahem… no acronym as of right now.

Mmm, I do love me some vomit, right before I go eat cafeteria food.

Last night was christmas dinner at ???'s house, along with about 18 (no exaggeration) of his closest OBU friends. OBU is the private Baptist university right next to mine, the state liberal arts school. (Right next to, as in they share streets and touch each other.)

I was the only HSU person there. It was soooo hilarious. But the food was good, and I knew a few of the people already, and things were wonderful.

Be careful, anything you do with me, you have to do with my mom first. I promised her that I would try being with a girl once she did.

:o

And now, for my next trick, watch me put my foot squarely in my mouth…

I think that’s part of the appeal. Our last kitty wasn’t much of a talker, although he’d yell at me if I wasn’t getting his dinner fast enough. FCD finds the idea of a chatty kitty appealing. We’ll see how he feels at 2AM…

Well, thanky, kind sir! It’s one of the later ones from the session - so it’s definitely better than some of the early ones - like the lumpy ones…

Yeah, but how does he feel about a GASSY kitty? I’ve had four different friends with Siamese cat and, but every single one of those cats could clear a house with their gas. Eye-watering, hold your breath gas!

My kitty isn’t siamese, but he sure is a talker.
