Great gooley-mooglies Bumba! (I just now read the OP.) You are never allowed to do anything like that again! (The heart attack, not OPing the MMP- you can do that any old time you want.) Capice? (Like you didn’t know that, but I felt like being emphatic about things.)
Get better and stay better.
Hey, something gross happened at work yesterday. Ya wanna read about it? (If you don’t, just stop reading this now.)
OK.
There was this one dog in. He was a big stupid yellow Lab. Dumb as a brick, but sweet. You know, they way yellow Labs are. Anyway he was in to get his nut-job done. No big. But he didn’t wake up from the anesthetic so much the well. He flailed around a bit. In the flailing, he yanked his IV line, and by the time he was non-drunk enough to deal with things, well he had the whole line disconnected from his catheter. So he had a big whack of blood all over his leg. While he was still too drunk to deal with. (Until a dog gets most of the way over getting knocked out, you really can’t mess with them because they are too unpredictable. Someone (in this case me) could get hurt.)
So. He thought it would be a good thing if he started to clean himself up. Lick, lick, lick on his bloody-messy leg. That still had the catheter in it, so there was more blood coming out. (In little drops, so he wasn’t in any danger of bleeding to death or nuthin’.)
Finally he was stable enough we could fix up his leg. (We just took his IV fluids away and took the catheter out and we were done with things.)
Then he was pacing around in his cage like he had to “go out”. So I took him out. (But he didn’t have to “go out” since he “went” while we were knocking him out for the nut-job. While I was shaving the “surgical site”. It was fun for everyone involved!) (No, it wasn’t.) Then, since we didn’t have to “go out” I brought him back in and put him back in his cage. Where he puked.
Remember his bloody leg he was licking? Yeah, he had a tummy full of snot and half-congealed blood. A real gooey sticky mess. That was cascading down the front of the cage. And I got to clean it up. Right before lunchtime.
But I did a good job and got everything cleaned up.
The dog was fine.
