{B]Bobbio**, you must do some research before you head for Michigan. Watch the first 20 minutes of both Beverly Hills Cop movies, all of Detroit Rock City, Gross Pointe Blank, and all the episodes of Northern Exposure where Maggie talks about home. That should prepare you for your trip.
I’m super-swamped (N.O.S.!) <snerk> but just wanted to pop in and say hi.
Hi!
Great MMP, gt. I’ll be lurking periodically - hurry up and write the next installment!
Just stopping in to say howdy. The students come back soon, so I’m working looooooooooooong days.
My job would be perfect if there weren’t any students at the university.
I’m glad you don’t think you’re me DR cause then that’d mean I’d have to be you, which means I’d be with your husband instead of you and you’d be with ACBG instead of me. While both of us might think that’d be a hoot, I’m pretty sure neither of them would parobably be all that thrilled being as, even though we both love 'em for who they are, they are not MMP Cool Kids, so they just wouldn’t appreciate it all as much.
gt, wow! Just wow!
I have a TMI fondue story. Back in the hazy seventies when I was married to the Klingon, we lived in an old salt box Colonial house that had a mud room attached to the back. The mud room was not heated and was a good refrigerator annex during the winter. We had made a cheese fondue for dinner one night and the fondue pot with the remaining cheese was transferred to the mud room and promptly forgotten…until…erm…Spring. Fortunately the lid had fused to the pot so there was never any smell or temptation to view the innards. Obviously the mud room was just steps to the trash can waiting outside. I don’t think I’ve had fondue since then.
beck, what crystal should I carry around to help me get rid of my quittin ciggies weight. I’m tellin’ ya, I am busting my hump to shed this and not havin much luck. I will try anything. (Already dieting for any of you smarty pantses who are about to say quit eating) :dubious:
ems, I hold a secret theory that some backaches are caused by viruses…especially when you haven’t done anything to cause it. Not that that makes yours feel any better.
Tupug
Unfortunately, I don’t have to. I grew up 2 hours away in northern Indiana, so I know the area very well. The trip is also structured so I can’t easily go see my sister and extended family, because it covers T-W-Th. Oh well, I’ll see her the next weekend, because I’ll be in Indianoplace to have a surprise party for the VunderKind’s18th birthday, and she’ll be there.
Thanks. I know I’ve been a Space Case lately, I promise I’ll be around more. If you’re having trouble with the math portion I could probably dig up some good teach-yourself-basic-math type books for you to practice on, because practicing is key. My high school Calculus teacher used to tell us over and over again, “Calculus goes in through the arm.” I’ve since found that it’s true for just about every area of mathematics.
Tupug, you were married to a Klingon? When making love, did you get to throw heavy objects at him while he read love poems?
Yes…yes, I was. But we had irreconcilable differences. I’m human afterall. As for our “love life,” I prefer not dwell on unpleasant history. Mr. Anachi is a more compatible alien life form.
off topic: is there a protocol in creating an MMP?
GT, I’m dying to hear the rest. Please tell me you and Monsieur Seatmate joined the Mile-High Club.
Went to the dentist this morning. He didn’t see anything terribly wrong with my tooth, but he trusts my dental instincts, and fixed the small chip that probably wasn’t the problem. I told him that it was entirely possible I was crazy and making it up, but he humored me and charged me $200 for it. Well worth the trip, I thought. The feeling should be returning to my upper lip at any moment.
Last night, as I was snuggling down to sleep, something occurred to me. I’ve been packing and purging and labeling and folding and taping and everything else for three weeks, if not more–and I haven’t even looked under my bed. I know the netherbed region probably isn’t too terribly crowded because I had a whole apartment to hide things in and nobody to hide them from (hell, I don’t even hide my battery-operated sleep aid anymore), but I still don’t want the poor movers to take the bed apart and find something traumatizing.
Nope. Just volunteer during the week, and post about anything you like!
Do we have a volunteer?
Firstly, don’t ever say anything is “off topic.” Nothing is off topic here, because we don’t really have a topic to begin with.
Secondly, since Unca Rue is busy these days, we take turns. I don’t know if we’ve got somebody for next week yet, so just volunteer and see what happens.
Thirdly … no, no, that’s all I got. And I’m not saying hi to Opal.
Drae you don’t have to: it wasn’t a bulleted/numbered list of only two items.
Yeah, but at the time I wrote “Thirdly,” I really thought I had something else to say.
Mine too. Bleh. At least this gives me time to plan a wedding and find a job in Minnesota!
But I’d still rather have *some *work to do. I feel so unproductive and useless. ::sigh::
Any ideas on where we should go for a short honeymoon (neither of us will have much vacation time) that would be WARM and sunny in December/January?
If he was French, that’d be my bet.
When I worked at the University of Oregon I often thought that about the professors, too.
Have I been in here before? If not, I’m really enjoying the travelogue GT, thanks.
**BWAHahahahahaha! ** Rosey, sweetie, it just has to be something we can hijack. And I’ve never seen a post this lot couldn’t hijack, so no worries.
Taxi go to the big island of Hawaii. Fly in to Kona and find a spot to sleep a little south of there. Take your snorkel and fins.
That might be a little far for a 3-4 day trip! We definitely want to go there sometime, but when we have time to really enjoy it and see everything.
I’m looking for something a little closer, maybe Mexico or the Caribbean. Specific resort ideas would be great! Snorkeling’s definitely on the list of things to try so anywhere that we could do that would be good too. And places where there are things to see/do. Yes, we will be spending some time in our room but we’re the type who like to get out and do things. I don’t want to go to a resort where the only things to do are eat, drink, and sleep. We can do that at home. And we probably will be spending much of the long cold Minnesota winter doing just that!
yes. me.
Hello all, sorry I’m late to the the party. Great job on the MMP gt. We are all agog and waiting for your next installment.
Work SUCKED the big one yesterday. Sheesh. I’m not even going into it, but I was extremely irritated and still am beyond irked. Fortunately for my co-workers, I’m not one to take it out on them. Our admin assistant noticed I was much more quiet than normal and asked me if all was okay.
I dunno, I didn’t feel very well yesterday and maybe what happened just seemed amplified because I felt like total crap. I stayed home sick today because I feel even worse. I am sick far too much.
I can’t really think of anything witty to say, but I just wanted to pop in and let you all know I’m not dead or anything.
