MMP - The Fire Within

Oof, Sean. It looks like next week and the week after I might be involved in some training on our accounting system (Oracle for anyone that cares). Supposedly it will be morning sessions only, not all day. But still.

I need to make an appointment for my annual girly bits examination. Must do that soon…

I know, that was totally random and unrelated, but I’m hoping that typing it will transfer the memory of it to my brain, thus allowing me to actually remember to complete the task.

I use a desk calendar for that, scout. That’s how I know that on March 1st, I have an 8:30 a.m. appointment to have the gums sliced open on the left side of my mouth.

Well, silly, I don’t have an appointment yet! I’m using the MMP as my To-Do List, I guess.

My date book tells me I have a teeth cleaning tomorrow morning, though.

I have to go see my rheumatologist on the 15th.

Was managerial this morning (not an actual manager, but finally taking steps to try to get there). Had facilitated yesterday’s staff meeting, and sent out the minutes from it this morning. Unfortunately, I had numbered the minutes, and then re-organized the topic headings - and then forgot to re-number. Spaz! Ah well - it was good content. And I did remember to spell check.

Lots more work than usual - and that’s a good thing! Total boredom sucks.

Susan

DOes this mean the MMP will have funny cartoons from now on?

A slug. Not The Slug.

Mandy the Martian has spent an hour on the phone with the Columbia House DVD Club. I wa snickering the whole time. I told her the only way to get away rom those bastiches is death. And she’s probably not smart enough to understand that faking it works too.

Yea! It’s almost time to continue the Slow Painful Death of Product Blech Training!

Ugh. I have two (2!) dental appointments next week. An orthodontist appointment on Monday, and a regular dental appointment on Tuesday. Who’s the freaking numbskull who scheduled that?

Oh. Me. :smack:

It’s been Appointment City around here! Last Thursday: Ellen’s girly bits. Monday: Daughter’s throat (strep). Yesterday: Ellen’s teeth (all there; cleaned). Today: Baby’s #2 flu shot … later today, check baby’s ear (which until last week had a tube in it). Tomorrow: Take my mother to the dentist. Next week: Take older kids to dentist.

We support the medical profession, yes we do.

I am here to report my PosturPedic mattress was delivered yesterday afternoon and it is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

And: I believe I am responsible for the intitial introduction of anal glands, dog, into the MMP.

I got your appointments right here.

This past Friday, with the liver doc. Meds had not been delivered.
Friday 17th. Tentative appt if the meds get delivered.
Friday March 3. Vaccice booster, liver doc. Meds if not deivered on the 17th.
Friday March 17. Appt with PCP for diabetes checkup.
Friday March 21. Girly bits doc - just for injection of birth control.

I’m booked up!

I’m back from funeralizing. It was only an hour and forty-five minutes. I have been to funerals that lasted up to three hours. Oh, and I wolfed down a piece of leftover pizza as soon as I got back. My tummy was all rumbly during the service. I half expected to be whacked over the head with a hymnal and told to hush.

I got some stuff to get done at work before I leave. Let me rephrase that. I got some stuff that I should get done before I leave but I think it ain’t gonna happen cause I’m to fat-i-gued to deal with a bunch of numbers and such today. A funeral takes a lot out of a person after all. I need a beer to assist me in the grieving process. The woman whose funeral I went to was a dyed in the wool Baptist who would have whacked me over the head with a Bible if she had seen me drink a beer, I think. Maybe I shouldn’t toast her memory with a beer. Still gonna drink it though.

Attacks Husband and I have made 24 flour tortillas, and I have made four loaves of bread, with four more rising. And I just made a batch of lime curd. Homemade tortillas are yummy. I’ll make the danish pastry dough after dinner, because it needs to sit in the fridge overnight. I’m also rending lard for use in refried beans.

What? This is what I do for fun.

I have about four cups of broth from the crockpot. It’s pork broth with red wine and chipotles. I was thinking lentil soup. Any suggestions?

“Rendering”. I am not tearing it apart. Rendering.

swampy, I had no idea Bibles and hymnals were such violent weapons!

Chill and serve over crushed ice?

<snerk> rending lard <snerk>

I bailed on the rest of the training for today. Just hand me a price list, a drawing of the stuff I can sell with the parts listed, and a phone number of someone I can call when I need to buy this crap. I DO NOT need to sit in on the training that the repair technicians have to go through to program, install, troubleshoot and repair this pieces of crap!

The GF is working tonight until nine o’clock. I think that I’ll join you in those after-work beers, swampy. Except that the place closest to my house that serves Yuengling is a go-go bar.

I wonder, VBob, are you allowed to go to JB’s?

Tortilla soup?

I am back from my meeting. I arrived there to find that our Chair was out sick, so since I was 10 minutes late, I got to be Chair.
No gavel, though.

Considering I didn’t have an agenda (well, not written down anyways)–I did well. Ended it 35 minutes early.

Snow squalls here–I want to bake something chocolatey and good. Maybe once the kids get home.
I need to see the opthamologist soon–I think I need bifocals (no comments from YOU, spats!). And I need to get my teeth cleaned.

Think I can send off the application to grad school on Friday–woot!

Whew - what an ordeal! I had a 1:30 appointment with my doctor for my annual poke-n-prod, and I had a few issues to discuss with him. I like my doc - he actually sits and talks to me and explains stuff, plus he answers my questions. I asked him to check out my moles to be sure none were funky - I had an atypical nevus removed a few years ago, and I’m a bit paranoid. But he said the skin stuff looked good. And my lungs and heart are good. As are my reflexes. I go see him in 3-4 months for more followup bloodwork.

I talked to him about my shoulder, and he sent me for Xrays. There’s a fun time. Three of the films weren’t bad - I just stood there facing whatever way the tech indicated and held my breath. Unfortunately, one of the shots involved lifting my arm up as high as I could. It HURT!!! Which is why I was there - to figure out what the problem is. They’ll get the report to the doc in a coupla days - I guess he’ll call if he needs me to come back in.

And while I was there, I made my appointment for my annual tit-squishin’. I was able to schedule it for the same day and time I made an appt for FCD to see the doc about his meds and stuff (non-neck related) - so I won’t have to take 2 days off (it’s while he’s still recuperating.) Plus when we get done, we can go to lunch at the BBQ place in Prince Fred, so that’s cool. But before then, I have to go to the last place I had my tits squished and pick up the films. They’re nearby, so it’ll be easy. I’m just going to tell them I’m moving and I’ll be getting a new doctor. I don’t feel like dealing with their disappointment when I tell them I’ve found a better practice because their doctor acted like he was afraid of me. Anyway, when I got all that done, it was after 3, and I still had a stop to make. I didn’t get home till after 4, right behind FCD! He was actually behind me in Hughesville - maybe 6 cars back when I called to ask where he was! But he passed me on Rt 5, the speed demon, and got home a minute or two before I did.

My mom volunteered to ride to FL with me next week - I had thought of asking her, but I didn’t expect her to want to spend all that time in a car. So I don’t have to drive alone, and I’ll have her bring her truck so we don’t have to take my van and trailer. I’ll save a bunch on tolls. On the other hand, I’ll be in a truck with my mother for something like 28 hours over a weekend. That’ll be interesting…

**FCD ** doesn’t want dinner tonight. Neither do I. Maybe I’ll start on our taxes. Oh yeah, there’s a good time…

I’m cooking right now, too, sort of. I found that when I went to WM, it was cheaper to use the ad that I had for pork tenderloin for 1.99 a pound than to just get poke chops. (I’m just cutting it into pieces for an asian dish anyways).
So I got 2, and froze one.
Also, strawberries are completely out of season, but twice this week, I’ve bought reasonably priced, DELICIOUS strawberries. How are they delicious this time of year? MUTANT STRAWBERRIES! No, seriously, I don’t know. But now every time I pass by the strawberries at work, I have to stop and smell them.
I’m about to go off to a meeting, but I’ll be back later.

(also, Swampy, isn’t it a bit early to be drinking today?)

It’s never too early to drink after a funeral!
I need simple dinner ideas for oh, now.

I hate making dinner–if it were up to me, I would occasionally cook up a storm, and the rest of the time would be yogurt, Triscuits, M&M’s, and whatever struck my fancy.
I’m sleepy–meetings and traffic make me sleepy!
