Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money.

There’s really no point to my posting this except I think other’s can sympathize (and empathize) with how I’m feeling.

I need mo’ money! Doesn’t everyone though. Next month is gonna be kinda tight and I’m not looking forward to it.

My SO broke his arm back in June and is on worker’s comp. He was off work for 7 weeks. He got paid but only a fraction of what he was making when he was working 50 hours each week. He went back to work on the 6th but he had physical therapy for his back 3 days a week and it took him away from work 3+ hours each time. He works construction and they’re working an hour away from the therapy office so it takes 2 hours of driving and one hour of therapy each appointment. He doesn’t get compensated for the time he’s gone from work for therapy because his paycheck, even though there’s only about 35 hours on it, is above the worker’s comp. limit! It really sucks! He just got his cast off last Friday and only has therapy one day this week so he’ll have more hours this week but he’s got about 16 weeks of therapy for his arm according to the doctor. That 16 weeks of missing hours and losing money. I told him that he needs to tell his physical therapist to schedule his appointments for first thing in the morning or really late in the afternoon so he doesn’t miss so much work. We’ll see what happens.

I’m just really looking forward to things getting back to normal when I can have money again. I hate the thought of having to dip into what little savings I have to pay bills next month. It’s just so depressing sometimes.

I feel a little better now that I got that off my chest! I wish there was something I could do to get some extra cash.

My daughter called tonight with about the same story. Her SO is in construction and presently out of work. He can get job if he goes out of state and the beat goes on.

I don’t really understand about the worker’s comp claim. Never heard of making too much to be on worker’s comp. The only people I’ve ever heard of not covered are the officers of a company and they have to sign a release.

Best of luck to you both.
