Oh, I heard about Wish and that it sucked, but I didn’t realize it was a special anniversary film.
Also, maybe it’s just me, but between the lamb and the clothing people wear, when I first saw Wish related media, I thought it was a Jesus-y movie. Somehow I get real nativity scene vibes from it, and even knowing it’s actually a Disney movie I couldn’t shake that feel. Anyone else?
The whole problem with the movie studios are that they’re stuck to the theater industry. The theaters themselves are barely profitable because the studios suck up the bulk of the profit. But now even the studios hardly make a profit from ticket sales. So theater releases are becoming more like marketing exercises.
The movie “bomb” or “blockbuster” thing is losing relevancy to anyone who’s not in the finance department.
