Sorry to post this in a thread, but I can’t seem to track down another Mod (tried 2).
I need to talk to a mod about a name change. I have what I think is a very good reason, but I can’t seem to hunt anybody down.
On the otherthand, I may be doing it wrong. I randomly selected a Mod, clicked ‘email this person’ and sent a mesage to the address provided. Is there something morte official I shoud be doing?
I assume everybody’s doing summer things, and the only reason I’m in anything resembling a hurry myself is, well, I’m going on vacation myself and was hoping to get this squared way before I do.
There’s also CK Dexter Haven. He’s an administrator. I think there’s a list somewhere…

oh and I forgot to mention, this is important - put ‘SDMB’ in the subject (without the quotes) otherwise your e-mail will be ignored (assumed spam)**
My understanding is that one doesn’t need an especially good reason for one name change. For a second, yes. They like one to have thought long and hard about ones username, nor do they want to enable people to leave their past behind. Not that that’s you, I’m just saying.
But, yeah, add all the advice together: email all the admins, put SDMB in the title, and be patient.
The other admins are Arnold Winkelreid and Gaudere, along with the afore-mentioned TubaDiva, Lynn Bodoni, and C K Dexter Haven. At least, those are the active admins. Ed Zotti is also an administrator, but you can imagine that he’s usually busy with other matters, and Cecil Adams, the Perfect Master, has administrative powers, but prefers for Ed to do his dirty work when necessary. There are also assorted other members of the Reader staff (most notably jdavis, aka Jerry the Tech God) with administrator privelidges, but who almost never show up.
