I don’t really like the tone of this thread and that’s kept me from responding. I don’t see any madness in the moderation. That said, I’m not in agreement with it. Let’s look at the facts. A typical pit thread starts. The pittee comes into the thread and says “neener, neener, can’t stop me.” People get a little upset with the pittee’s attitude as much as what he does. Some people think a “getting physical” answer, although in jest, is appropriate. Miller puts his foot down and clearly tells everyone that this isn’t going to happen on his watch. Not everyone hears the admonition, actually admonitions, and a few still think dismemberment and sacrifice are appropriate responses. Miller is not amused.
Along comes Dseid who posts a hypothetical situation with 2 actors. Mr. A and Mr. B. Neither are in any way representative of any board member. Mr. A is a victim of Mr. B’s asshatery, literally. Mr. B refuses to remove his hat in a theater blocking patron Mr. A and others from seeing the movie.
Tibby responds to that post with…
*That’s easy. If I was Person A, I’d lop off Person B’s head and then use her large hat as a popcorn container.
Am I the bully in that scenario?..meh, bully’s gotta do what bully’s gotta do.*
The reference in that post was to the theater clown, not anyone on the board whose name might have a B in it.
Tibby goes a little further with this.
And, of course, now that I’m a Bo-ist, I’d take person B’s head to the quarry after the movie and throw it in.
Again, referring to Mr. B’s severed head and, making a play on the situation, taking the severed head to Bo’s quarry and tossing it in. Bo’s quarry, not Bo’s head.
In my opinion, there was no threat against a member of this board in either of those posts. But did **Tibby **go to an area that Miller had already put his foot down and said to avoid?
But calling that moderator madness taints this thread in such way that I really didn’t want to participate in it.
