Mentioning that someone’s been stalking a celebrity for like 3 decades because he misunderstood a line the celebrity wrote once apparently is hate speech.

So’s mentioning that some posters have sand in their woowoo.

So…yeah. Sarcasm is certainly hate speech and will most likely prompt someone tattling to the mods.

cite?

What are you talking about? Who has been stalking which celebrity? What was the line that was misunderstood?

No, but Czarcasm, combined with the word “woo” does.

My hairy butt is more than enough cite for you. Feel free to get kissing distance from it while you’re examining it in detail.

As an aside, do you even know what the word “cite” means?

I was worried that that post would be too direct. Luckily I’ve obviously concealed who I was thinking about well enough that it wasn’t obvious to you, and you being so very, very, very insightful, if you didn’t recognize the person I was thinking of, no other Doper could possibly get it. Whew.

You appear to be implying something. Are you going to state your accusations outright?

What, exactly are you saying, and who, exactly are you accusing?

In other words: cite?

I repeat–my hairy butt is your cite.

I’m glad that my necessary-for-the-forum obfuscation of the poster-in-question’s identity slipped by you, you being so very intelligent.

That said, I’m under absolutely no obligation to discuss the specific person I was thinking of. And I won’t. But hey! Thanks for assuring me that I was able to conceal this individual’s identity.

PS: Really–the word “cite”? Look up what the word means and try to use it correctly next time. In the meanwhile, my cite is available for you to kiss.

Is your life really so empty that this kind of pointless nonsense seems like a good use of your time?

I have mixed feelings about these little quixotic mod-obsessions that you and some others on this board insist on pursuing—it makes me extremely sad, as a fellow human being, and yet so much better about my own life by comparison. I don’t know whether to cry for you, or thank you for brightening my day.

Well, all right, I admit I shouldn’t have done that. I wasn’t trying to continue the debate about whether the word should or should not be allowed on this message board; I was just surprised and curious about that other meaning. But still, I shouldn’t have asked about it here since it might have encouraged others to answer, and thus continue debating the word’s significance in this context.

[Moderator Note]

Look, Fenris, deliberately trying to push another poster’s buttons in ATMB is not beneficial to anyone. If you want to pick a fight with Peter, take it to the Pit. But knock this off right now.

No warning issued, but one may be if you do this again.

Ugh. Not even I can get behind this stuff. Would it be better if the mods were careful enough to say “You are acting like a jerk” instead of “you are a jerk,” as the latter can be seen as a personal insult? Sure. But pointing out a slight problem doesn’t cover up the fact that you were specifically targeting Czarcasm, antagonizing him outside the pit, and were told multiple times to stop, without even being punished at first.

I am hoping that you were just having a really bad day.
