Modern version of an invention that most surprise it's original inventor

Now that you’re confused…

Example, what do you think Alexander Graham Bell would think of the telephone of today?

Would an HDTV set shock the man who invented the TV back in the 20’s? (Farnsworth?)

Would Edison freak out if he could hear a compact disc. (I know he didn’t invent it, but it did pretty much replace his wax cylinder and it’s ancestors).

I’d vote for Bell, but reckon that Stephenson would get a real buzz if he saw a modern rocket engine.

I’d say cell phones would really freak out Bell. Also, a military fighter jet would amaze the Wright Brothers.

Farnsworth, on the other hand, wouldn’t be that amazed by HDTV. It’s still basically the same thing. I suppose one of the flat panel plasma screens might impress him, but not nearly as much as flying at 100,000 feet at 3 times the speed of sound.

How funny - when I saw the OP , Bell and the 'phone was my first thought too. He certainly seems to be winning so far.

Well I wonder what Babbage and Ada et al would think of modern computers.

And if I had any notion whose idea the sundial was, that person might b quite astonished at modern clocks.

I suppose Baird would be impressed by modern television sets.

Lister and antiseptics.

Jenner and Vaccination.

Linaeus and Genetics.

the Curies and nuclear medicine.

just to name a few.

Moses made do with ten commandments, less than two hundred words or so. How many millions of words are written into modern legislation?

Archimedes and a modern aircraft carrier. (I saw the USS Stennis in San Diego three weeks ago. Awesome!)

The Unknown Troglodyte would be amazed at modern clothing.

Kiirkpatrick McMillan would be bemused by motorbikes.
