Both the M21 EBR and the WA2000 max out at 600 rpm. (Fun fact: Who knows the fastest-shooting weapon in the game? The vector at (1000 rpm) you say? Nope! The .44 magnum will fire as fast as the trigger is pulled, so assholes with modified controllers can empty it as fast as platform can process the client commands!)
And Lobsang, I don’t really know the answer to that question. My guess would be that no, the perk doesn’t apply any more. I know that if you switch to danger close pro, it will make your killstreaks do more damage, even if you didn’t earn the killstreak with that class. So I assume that damage modifiers are applied based on your current class. But again, I’m not sure.
I found out today I’d inadvertandly been using NO killstreak rewards for an unknown amount of time. I did wonder why I was having such a hard time, and why when I did get a succession of kills I didn’t seem to be getting any killstreaks. I just assumed I was dying just before getting them.
The event that caused me to realize was attaining the “ten kills with no kill streaks selected” reward. But I’d been having so much fun up to that point racking up kills I failed to notice that I hadn’t been getting killstreak rewards! I think I ended up getting a 13 or 14 killstreak without using killstreak rewards.
And RIGHT after I turned them back on my game ‘adjusted’ to being fail… so I continued to not get any killstreak rewards!
On another note: Is there any indication that VAC is bothering to do its job? The PC game seems to be almost permanently infested with hackers of some kind. Many of them quite blatant.
I take it you mean it can’t act quickly if someone decides to cheat knowing they risk inevitable banning but being prepared to take the risk because of the delay in getting banned.
Most people can get more chopper gunners going Pred-Harrier-Chopper.
Harrier-Pavelow-Chopper is bad for a few reasons.
Harrier-Pavelows allow them both to be taken out with 1 stinger, if you blow up the Harrier when it’s within about three lengths of the pavelow, they’ll both go. You can also aim at the pavelow, and the chaff will make the stinger hit the harrier, or aim at the harrier and it’ll just hit the pavelow. Stingers act funny with Harrier-Pavelows both in the air.
You can’t call in the Chopper gunner while the pavelow is in the air, anyway.
Harriers and Chopper gunners are often competing over the same kills, if there’s 6 on the enemy team, and 5 aren’t running cold blooded and at best half their team aren’t hiding inside, that leaves you 2.5 people. That means that almost 40% of the time, your Harrier and Pavelow will be gunning (or rotating to gun at) the same person when they switch targets. This means a loss of overall efficacy of your air support.
5-7-11 gets more Chopper gunners than 7-9-11, because you get to 7 more frequently, and you end up having to get the same amount of kills – or less – yourself to get to the chopper gunner.
I mostly use Cold Blooded. I think I may have 2 builds without it but the rest all have it. Nothing worse than being chumped by a harrier or a pave low more than once.
Ac130 - stay indoors
Also there are tactics you can use to avoid them whilst outside, for harrier you can simply pay attention to where it’s pointing on the mini map. For helis you can put buildings between yourself and them.
I play on the PC and am in the SDMB group thing. I have never really figured out how all that crap works on Steam. I am usually under the name Ike Witt.
