- It would need FMJ to shoot through A wall. That’s it. One wall.
- It can’t get through the other walls. It’s not in the programming.
- I’ve tried.
One of these days I’m going to start recording games with gamecam for youtube. I’ll probably start sucking badly to coincide with that.
I play PS3 under xRetroVertigox send me a friend request with a note about the SDMB.
I told ya. Ninja Pro is pretty beefy.
Go for it, dude. We can get you leaner and meaner.
um Fraps!
records game play directly from your pc, although it may lag out your game in that case go with the web cam
Music can definitely improve the experience. If I’m losing and need to get pumped up I play something loud and fast and run around with a SMG/shotgun class. Its awesome to tear through multiple opponents with Rammstein in the background.
I have also discovered the best time to launch a predator missile is just after an emergency airdrop lands. Seeing those little red squares clustered around the packages and then watching them try and scatter just to late is awesome and the swearing and complaining after a 5-kill is even more awesome.
Absolutely. Man, that’s fun.
How do you like their 3rd person games? I *hate *3rd person shooters, but my perception was that it wasn’t well-done. What do you think?
I’ve been noticing more tactical nuke killstreaks lately. While I’m sure its awesome to accomplish, it seems like a crappy way to end the round. The last time it happened the other team had a guy 25-0, but nobody else had more then three kills. Needless to they were being dominated.
The nuke is a stupid idea. People will play just to get that, regardless of gametype.
Gotta watch out, though - I’ve run into a ton of kill boosting lately, primarily in Free-for-All but sometimes in Team Deathmatch. In this case, the killer has a friend and they find a remote corner of the map. The friend lays down a tactical insertion, killer knifes him. Friend respawns, lays down tactical insertion, killer knifes him. Rinse and repeat until they can get a Chopper Gunner of AC-130. Then wait until the nuke.
You can always tell because one guy is 25-0 and the bottom guy in the room is 0-25. Everything in the middle doesn’t matter.
I already have it covered with gamecam. It doesn’t seem to affect the performance.
The problem is (and I am sure I can find a way to solve this) the aspect ratio in gamecam is fixed at non-widescreen (4:3) so my videos are squashed.
I want to record some 3rd person cage matches because I think they’d be interesting to watch and I haven’t seen any of them on youtube.
My two favourite modes are free-for-all and third person cage. I flit between the two.
I love 3rd person and I think it’s done well. the third person aspect of it doesn’t actually hinder you because you’re still aiming centrally and you can guide your character around obstacles because you can see him. And you have the advantage of being able to see round corners without your character having to put his body in view.
ETA: I suck at team games. The dynamic is very different.
I’m sure this has been mentioned already but the game has a fairly significant bug or bad design…
You can’t invite a person to your party then join FFA or third person cage.
But you can do it the other way round: Look for games then invite your friend.
It makes for a lot of faffing about because invariably it goes like this… Look for game. Invite friend. Random person joins game so friend can’t. escape. try again.
I could be mistaken, but I thought killstreaks reward don’t count towards a killstreak.
You’re mistaken.
Care package kills don’t count, all others do.
I hate the big maps like Estate or Derail. These were clearly designed for 20+ players. When there are only 5 people connected in FFA you have to run around like a fool until you find another guy to kill.
Wasteland is big too, but somehow all the action takes place at the tunnels. Also the mounted miniguns are useless in FFA. When using one you are simply asking to be knifed at the back.
For tight maps like Rust or Terminal I have P90 Akimbo with FMJ and stopping power. They work very well.
There’s one place in (I think) favela where the minigun is quite effective. I was able to get about four kills in a row with it before I just got bored and did something else.
Though 3rd person cage seems to avoid estate and derail (and possibly others) the size of the maps is sometimes a problem. Like sub base (is that the name) I’ve had a few games where the game risks being ended in a no score draw.
Some aspect of human nature causes certain areas of certain maps to become kill-zones. One that springs to mind is the long indoor corridor in (I think) Skidrow.
My fave for 3rd person cage is highrise.
On a whim I decided to assign the same keys to melee in another game as I have to MW2, and also make more use of the melee. I am now thinking I should have done this sooner! Melee requires no ammo, and if you assign it to an easy enough key (mine: mousewheel down) you can use it much more effectively. I did it in F.E.A.R. 2 and cleared a room full of baddies using just the melee. Hardly took a shot ( rushing them seems to take them off-guard. Good ai) and wasted no ammo.
Sweet.
