Ed has changed the “Gordon Jump” reference to “Maytag repairman”. Now I imagine that there will be someone telling me that the Maytag repairman is actually now a woman, and that it’s now spelled “Mai-Tahg” after being bought out by a Chinese-German conglomerate, and that she doesn’t really “repair” so much as “re-synergizes the components so they can co-actualize out of their shame spiral”…actually, that sounds kinda neat. I think I’ll use that in a Powerpoint next week.

Gordon Jump? A pretender to the throne! The real Maytag repairman will always be Jesse White, who retired from the appliance business in 1989 and went into the moldy cheese business in 1996.
Alas, the author of that line, Warren Zevon, is, like Gordon Jump, also dead.
