Mollie Tibbetts missing college student (allegedly) killed by illegal alien

Facebook via Snopes:

The man has been convicted.

Amazing that the jury didn’t buy the killer’s alibi (that two masked mystery men kidnapped him, forced him to drive to where Tibbetts was jogging, then after one of them killed her, put the body in the trunk of his car).

Best defense claim since Ira Einhorn fingered the C.I.A. in the murder of his girlfriend and concealment of her body in his apartment closet (they framed him because he knew too much about the agency’s paranormal activities, you see).

It’s a bit hard to understand why the Tibbetts jury needed 7 hours to reach a verdict. Were the meals that good?

I watched the entire trial.

As a juror I probably would have convicted him anyway, but I’d have an easier and faster time if the prosecution had produced more in the way of alibi witnesses for Dalton. I get that his boss said he was in Dubuque, but maybe put on his roommate and another co-worker on the stand. Maybe his boss is perjuring himself, but multiple people aren’t likely to.

He also didn’t do himself any favors with the wild story, which reminded me of the Jodi Arias “Ninja” allegations. To play devil’s advocate, if he had to get on the stand at all, which I still don’t think was a good idea, it should have been something like this:

“I happened to be out driving when I saw Mollie jogging. I thought she was attractive so I pulled up and suggested we go out for coffee. Instead she called me an [explicative] creep and said she was calling the police. I know as an illegal alien I’d be immediately deported, so I snapped and blacked out (like I’ve done before) and when I came to there was her body in her trunk. Since I had no intention of killing her I had no idea what to do with her body. I didn’t have a shovel or a place in mind or anything, so I just left it in a random corn field and covered it the best I could.”

OP Why make a point of his immigration status?

This thread is 3 yrs old and the op hasn’t posted in over a year, so…
