Molly, Finder Of Lost Phones

A few days ago I left my phone lying on top of a couple of plastic bins, and then I couldn’t find it. So I went on Google to use the find-my-phone tool which rings the phone until you press the power button.

So I followed the sound to one of the back bedrooms where I found Molly, who had also been alerted by the noise and decided to investigate. She graciously held the pose long enough for me to get the shot.

Good adorable helper kitty.

Nice chubby little grey cat. But why do I get a link to this thread in my notifications? And how did you photograph this without your smartphone?
the first question is serious, the second in jest

Oh, god, Discourse again. I’d been reading a completely different thread in a different forum, was going to quote something but decided not to, and it was still in my reply buffer. Initially I tried to quote your question, and all of that other post was still there.

I use Apple’s version weekly.

Got it, no problem. Hasn’t happened to me yet, but good to know that is possible.

My wife’s find-my-phone tool is my phone. “I can’t find my phone, can you call it?” I joke that I call her number more to find her phone than I do to talk to her.

Yeah, but that only works if the phone isn’t silenced. Mine is almost always switched to mute - the “find yr damn phone” function will still make it ring regardless.

My cellphone normally rides in my shirt pocket. After one night at the sports bar, with friends and more than a few drinks for a game on TV of some sort, I got home, tossed my shirt and a few other things into the laundry hamper, put on sweats and a T-shirt, and settled in for an evening of TV.

Then I noticed my cellphone wasn’t in its usual place on the kitchen counter. Where could it be? I looked for it, but couldn’t find it. Did I leave it at the sports bar? Using my home office phone (a landline) I gave them a call, but no, they hadn’t seen it and nobody had turned a phone in. Then I realized I had my landline, and called my cellphone.

The laundry hamper started ringing.

Are you 100% sure Molly didn’t hide the phone there herself just to get credit for “helping” you find it? Cats can be quite resourceful and cunning.

“This loud ringy thing dares to sully my blankie. YOU WILL MAKE IT STOP HUMAN!”

Android/Google’s version works even if the phone is silenced.

I’m the loser of phones and remotes Queen.
The Dish box has a ‘find the remote, Stoopid button’. I’ve went days looking for it before I got an upgrade box.

I have a couple of cel phones so I’m often calling one with another.
My s****t phone was lost one day. I couldn’t find my real phone. I spent half a day looking for either. Found one called the other and it was in my back pocket. Gah!!

Yes, that’s why I also posted …
