Anaamika, in no state of the USA are minors under 18 allowed to be customers for strip shows. Age-of-Consent is for private, personal non-commercial sexually-oriented activities; the moment you involve any sort of commercial consideration or public performance, the magic number goes up to 18.
That does bring up an interesting point, though. In New York, a 17-year-old bot can have sex with a woman, but cannot watch her dance around in her underpants. Similarly, a 17-year-old girl can have sex, but can’t enter a store where vibrators are sold.
We set minimum ages for certain activities and they’re always going to seem arbitrary. Why is a 16 year old mature enough to acquire a drivers license but a 15 year old isn’t. What’s the big difference between someone 21 years of age and 20 that allows the older to purchase and drink alcohol?

This is true, but the examples I gave are more akin to allowing a 20-year-old to purchase whiskey but not beer.
An 18 year old can purchase rifle ammunition but can’t purchase pistol ammunition, is that better? A 15 year old can get a learners permit but can’t legally drive by themselves until they’re 16. In the various states there are laws dictating that one has to be a minimum age to enter certain establishments. So just because a minor can legally have sex doesn’t mean they’re permitted in those establishments. As I said all age restrictions are pretty arbitrary.

Well, not to belabor the point, but you seem to be missing the analogy. Whiskey has more alcohol than beer, which makes it more dangerous. Similarly, having sex is more dangerous than masturbating, or watching someone dance half naked.
Having a learner’s permit does confer greater responsibility than a driver’s license does.
It is an exceedingly minor disctinction in terms of this thread, but I just thought I would point it out.
