30 years and 9 months (give or take) ago.
She was 17 and a senior in HS. She gave up a full ride to Michigan State to work in KMart, raise me and go to a local college.
Since then, she became an RN, did a stint in the National Guard as a Second Lieutenant (to pay for my summer riding camps), got a BS (and was valedictorian) in Health Services, made many friends, and raised a pretty good kid. She became my hero, someone I admire and love. I aspire to be like her.
Thanks Mom. Thanks for having me 30 years ago.
Happy Birthday, Sue! (And thanks, Mom!)
(((((Sue))))))
I think I should be saying Happy Birthday…but I’m no good with math, and you threw in that extra nine months and just got me all confused.
Your mom sounds like a great lady. But that’s no surprise, with a kid like you!

Hope you’re having/had a great one.
Just remember: After 25, we get a year wiser not a year older.
