Mommy, where do Cyclons come from?

Talking about the most modern version of BSG.

Please fprgove my ignorance, I just started whatching the show about six weeks ago. (Now I’m hooked)

Thanks in advance.

First, it’s “Cylons.” I believe that a Cyclon is a misspelled tornado.

Second, I’m new to the BSG-verse myself (I’ve only seen the miniseries and first 4 eps), but the opening credits start with something like “they were created by man … they evolved.” Wikipedia is more specific:

Thanks for the info Misnomer, I can’t believe I misspelled Cylons (along with forgive) I guess that’s why the mods frown upon posting while under the infuence of alcohol.

Sorry about that.

Well, sweetie, when a lady cylon and a man cylon love each other very much they get married. And when they want a cute little baby cylon, only after they’re married, they share a special kind of love, a kind of touching only grown-ups do. When you’re older you’ll know more.

What, do you turn on your tv 10 seconds late every week?

What else do you need to know?

Yeeeessssss, a special glowing-spine kind of love.

You’ve been looking at Gollum Porn again, haven’t you, Poddy? :stuck_out_tongue:

I honestly don’t know if that’s a better band name, song title, or World of Warcraft item. :stuck_out_tongue:

See my agent for licensure.

And just to clarify, the Cylons that were around before they buggered off for forty years were just the mechanical “chrome toaster” type models. The humanoid models were unknown to mankind until the day they showed up and killed everyone.

What about the original BSG series? Same origin there?

Yeah, but there are still some toasters around – at least, there were in the first four episodes. <grin> I was actually happy to see that they aren’t all humanoids, and that some have kept the Cyclops/KITT flashing eye.

The Wikipedia link I provided in post #2 has info about the original series, too – and Galactica 1980.
