Moms for Liberty lose big

Good for him. I’ve been raging about it in political threads here for years myself.

2023 WIN REPORT +

Coming soon!

I won’t be holding my breath.

Salute the Stars and Stipes!

I did see them referred to as Klanned Karenhood, which is funny AF, at least in a darkly nihilistic way

In “Fascist BINGO,” who had “Chilling with the Proud Boys??”

I love the last part – their “official” photos.

Nice touch.

You coulda knocked me over with a feather!

Can’t we just rename them Moms Against Liberty and be done with it?

A few found online, admittedly there’s always a layer of misogyny in these

  • Twatzis
  • Minivan Taliban
  • Mary Kay Kay Kay
  • Assholes with Casseroles
  • Betty Crackers
  • Hos/Whores for Hitler
  • Trunts/Trump Tw*ts/Trump Trunts

BTW, for topics like this my daily read was Jezebel. , which closed up shop earlier this month. A SDMB search shows that it has been cited here repeatedly over the years. I didn’t always agree with their views (especially 2007’s “Have You Ever Beat Up A Boyfriend? Cause, Uh, We Have” - the comment section was even worse and had to be deleted). But there was a lot of content and focus there that never showed up on many other newsfeeds. RIP Jezebel, hopefully you will come back.

Mary Kay Kay Kay is excellent.

Minivan Taliban is inspired.

Yeah but let’s share it anyway and hope it goes viral cause it’s funny right! But I’m not laughing guess I need to find my sense of humor?

You’re dragging a repost from Jezebel for misogyny? Yeah, you might give a glance.

Moderating:

“Admittedly.” Blindingly obvious misogyny in this list.

Save this stuff for the Pit. Or better yet, merely link to it. Don’t list it out in P&E threads.

No warning issued, but a close call in my opinion. Don’t disregard our rules just because it’s “funny.”

I like Moms (pretending to be) for Liberty.

There’s actually a certain amount of value in the modern style of naming political action groups, of which “Moms for Liberty” is one.

Whatever your immediate thought on the plain language interpretation, it means the diametric opposite.

So IOW, they actually favor really “Moms for evil slavery and hate”. It’s sorta fun that it’s so very, very transparent. The only thing better than a clever opponent is a clueless opponent who thinks they’re clever.

Although I don’t know if they were officially endorsed by MFL, the local candidates spouting parents rights won pretty easily in blue NJ.

“Blue NJ” isn’t really a thing. Statewide, we’re blue, but there are really red areas in the north, northwest, southeast, etc. Moms for Liberty wouldn’t have a chance in my town – our high school encouraged kids to walk out after one of the shootings in the last few years, and had a transwoman as prom queen.

Oh, dang, who would’ve guessed this. I wish someone would keep a running log of Republican pastors who turn out to be abusers.

Phillip Fisher Jr. is a pastor and Republican ward leader who coordinates faith-based outreach for Philadelphia’s Moms for Liberty chapter. He’s also a registered sex offender, due to a 2012 felony conviction for aggravated sexual abuse of a 14-year-old boy when Fisher was 25.

Fisher insists that he did nothing wrong, despite pleading guilty to one of 12 counts filed against him after an investigation by the Chicago Police Department, according to court records obtained by The Inquirer.

Quite right, and over the years I’ve become very adroit at automatically applying that dynamic without a second thought. In turn, when/where ever I see where a group or business has words like “patriot”, “freedom”, “enterprise”, “heritage” in their names, Immediately dismiss them as right-wing fascist autocrats.

True it may sound like the case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater, but it was them that poisoned the well, not I.
