Monarch conditioning

While searching for something completely unrelated, I happened to come across Monarch Conditioning. Supposedly it is a type of conditioning based on torture that was invented by the CIA or the Nazis or some such nonsense, and most of the web sites that mention it seem to be of the tinfoil hat variety.

Is this based on anything real, and if so, what is it really all about?

Monarch Mind Control:

One of the best kept secrets in history is the Monarch Mind-control programming which uses trauma-based mind control along with state of the art mind control to create humans who are totally controlled by a 'handler’ without even knowing that they are controlled. This is accomplished by sophisticated use of the brain’s ability to disassociate, which is used to the extreme to create structured multiple-personality- disordered minds.

For an extremely technical definition of what the Monarch program was: it was used as US Department of Defense code name for a subsection of the CIA’s Operation Artichoke which is also known as Project MK-Ultra. However, this technical definition is misleading because the Monarch programming under various names such as marionette programming has been going on since the Nazis. The web site linked in the previous post doesn’t look like a great source for factual information. There was (is?) a CIA program called Project MKULTRA which attempted to discover a means of mind-control, or may have used mind-control as a cover for research into torture.

Here’s the Wikipedia link toMKULTRA, though I doubt it is easy to discover exactly what went on, what the results were, or even if the project continues to this day.

Of course I could tell you the truth about MKULTRA, but then I’d have to…

I always thought the Korean War era Red Chinese were credited with that kind of Manchurian Candidate brainwashing. I don’t think there’s any serious evidence it ever worked.

Most of what is “known” about Monarch Mind Control comes from a schizophrenic woman named Cathleen O’Brien, who claims she was secretly brainwashed by the C.I.A., Satanic drug barons, international pedophile rings, etc…oh, and her shrink’s in on it, too. Doesn’t seem to have affected her writing career, though.
