Dennis Miller? Might be interesting but just how did his name get in the hat? I will watch at least once to see how he does.
Satan?
Seriously, Jillian Barberie would be huge amounts (no pun) of fun to have in the booth. She keeps up on sports, and can dish the s**t like nobody else.
Plus, she would DEFINITELY draw in more viewership…
I’m all in favor of Miller, but I’m afraid his jokes will go over the heads of most of the audience, and his acerbic wit will get him in trouble with the network.
I love football, and I love Dennis Miller. This great sport needs someone as bright as he to provide comment. Only Nick Bakay on ESPN comes close.
As a reminder, Bakay was Miller’s sidekick on the old ill-fated Fox talk show.
And in other news, Melissa Stark is replacing Leslie Visser as sideline reporter.
I read an interview with the guy who produced most of Miller’s HBO shows once. This guy used to produce MNF before some personal problems intervened. He stated that Miller would be excellent. I agree wholeheartedly! Sorry, I forget the gentleman’s name.
I hope that by the third broadcast, Dan Fouts snaps and throws both of those bastards out onto the field. Wishful thinking. I will be listening to the CBS radio broadcasts of the games. The two working that booth are no Stram and Buck, but beat the ABC crew by a mile.
Personally I want the old Michaels, Gifford, and Deirdorf team back! I HATED the Michaels, Dierdorf, Esiason crew. Even though I thought Boomer was a Putz, they didn’t have to pick on him so badly.
Finally; It’s about damn time Lesley Vissar left. I HATED her hair (this is how you can tell I’m female). Good Lord, it looked like every week she was surprised to be on camera. I think ABC should have bought the woman a brush!
I’m not sure how I feel about Miller being on the broadcast. Sometimes I find him extremely unfunny, and his voice can get on my last nerve. But I’m wait and see for now.
BTW It appears to be a done deal. http://abcmnf.go.com/news/news.20000622.foutsmillerj.page.html
I think if he can stick to the topic of football (or even sports in general) he will do fine. However, he does tend to do alot of free association while rambling. At any rate he is a better choice than Rush Limbaugh, who would have had to debate every call.
