I have lived in Taiwan for the last 10 years and my friend who married a local aboriginal woman from the Atayal tribe in north Taiwan. Said that they did this once after a hunt. I will clarify with him what actually happened. Whether it was eaten live or merely fresh killed. I do know he has eaten Taiwan Macaque flesh before and I have eaten flying squirrel, and muntjac deer. So it is plausible.
