Monster Hunter 3 (Demo for Wii)

If you’re looking for a good game, this isn’t it. It’s like someone at Capcom said “Hey, how can we copy Shadows Of the Colossus and give it even more camera problems?” Well, they succeeded. The camera is scary bad. This game is better off with a regular controller, with a right thumbstick tied to the camera angle. The controls are pretty unsatisfying, too. Shake the Wiimote to stab. That’s pretty much it. You have healing potions and crap that you can use when monsters chomp your giblets, and you will be using them. The problem is that you sheathe your weapon, stop, and then take the potion. If you take a stronger healing potion, your character does all of the above, and then flexes.

I’m glad this game is a beta that I got from Gamestop, because if this is the full game, I’d be pissed. This is the ind of game that the Angry Video Game Nerd would play and have a splendid review about.

I’ve never understood the popularity of that series. It’s a real turd IMHO and is a prime example of the major differences between Japanese and Rest-of-the-world tastes in games.

It’s…popular? Shut your whore mouth.
I suppose it’s how those Dynasty Warriors games keep getting made and how they don’t make the Romance Of the Three Kingdoms(esque) games as often as Koei did.

The trailers for the full game look like epic win, but you’re right, the demo sucks crusty balls.

I think it’s the highest selling series in Japan by far. At least on psp and wii I think.

For PSP, definitely. I think Dragon Quest has it beat in general, though.

it’s amazingly popular in Japan. They absolutely LOVE it here.

Also, the game was MEANT to be played with the new classic controller, I think they’re even going to sell it bundled with one in the US when it releases (has it already released)?

I’m a bit scared to go online with my wii though cause I don’t want it to brick and I have it modded (so I can play Japanese games. I don’t pirate anything on it, but thanks to stupid region protection I had to hack it so i don’t have to order games from back home, which is annoying and costly)
