What we view in the shadows
This is a shot I did for a music project some time ago. I imagined a stool on a stage with a cigarette burning in it, with a spotlight shining on the microphone:
I liked the way the light coming through the cast iron railing displayed on the stair steps. (click thru for hi res view)

…this photo accurately portrayed my mood at the time. It was a rough year. Lit with a single strobe, positioned very carefully camera-left so as to not put any light at all into my eyes.
I wasn’t planning to submit anything this month, but I just happened across this snapshot I took more than 20 years ago somewhere in Southeast Asia. It’s an iPhone photo of a glossy print, which hasn’t improved the quality at all, but I’ve always liked this photo.
