Good spot. Can I say I’m the first to be unsurprised?
My only question is: Did he google the book, or does he have a print copy of it that he rubs on himself for self-gratification?
“I apologize, Moonbat.”
“Grrr. It’s Man… I mean Moonshot!!!”
“That’s what I said. How about a nice game of chess, Cumshot?”
“Arrrr!!!”
That book incorrectly stated that the silo door was 80 tons.
Nice try.
I’m just curious how WarGames is “a liberal fantasy”. There’s nothing in it I saw that says we should get rid of nuclear weapons - just that we shouldn’t allow the increased use of computers to cause us to behave like computers, too.
Well, the geek gets the girl. That’s kind of a universal fantasy though.
In the alternate “conservative fantasy” ending, the entire planet is vaporized. But we get them first!

Titan II ICBMs are shown be launched from Minuteman LCCs.
-
The MCCC is talking about smoking pot. Missilers never do drugs.
-
The launch procedure is inaccurate.
-
The DMCCC points his sidearm at the MCCC. That would never happen.
-
The MCCC refuses to turn his key. That would never happen.
I looked, and I can find similar information to what moonshot said, but I couldn’t find the word-for-word quotes. What pages did you find the most damning stuff? If it’s just the same procedures information, then I’m not sure if that’s sufficient to conclude plagiarism.
Missilers never talk about doing drugs? I served on a submarine, and I find that pretty hard to believe.
I bet there’s an excellent chance that missile duty required the same long stretches of extreme boredom as submarine duty- and when you have bored young guys sitting around doing very little, the same handful of topics tend to come up over and over again. You can guess what the #1 topic was (and it wasn’t drugs), but drugs was probably in the top 10.
Moonshot, I haven’t read all your posts, but would like to tell you that I cracked up laughing over your “Commie Ships at the Dem Convention” posts. Stay and post! In my humble opinion, this board needs more conservative fuel added to the fire.
Start reading halfway down the first full paragraph on the right. It’s pretty obvious then.
What boat?
The link should take you to page 51. At the top is a sidebar labeled “Countdown to Doomsday”. While not word-for-word, Moonshot’s quoted post is clearly lifted from pargraphs 3-5.
As for the 80 tons vs. 110 tons argument, I don’t really care one way or another, but Moonshot is welcome to provide a cite showing he is correct.
The one that goes under water and comes back up when it wants to.
Today’s Wondermark is all about moonshot:
The facts are with me.

So, one unvetted Internet source says one thing, a book published by the National Park Service says another. Toss-up, at best.
Meanwhile, please answer my previous question. Are you claiming this was the first time you’ve seen the text I linked to?
