There Ya Go!!!

Well, clearly, it’s not really stealing if the store makes a mistake, right? And besides, those bastards deserve it, what with their annoying commercials.
Sheesh!
2sexy, good call. I’m glad you’re doing the right thing. There should not be a TV anywhere in the world worth your integrity.
As for those who urged, in seriousness, the opposite course of action…
… you’re pathetic idiots. Dishonest pathetic idiots.
I know he already decided to not do it, but I still say LIVE A LITTLE! How many chances are ya gonna get to walk away with a brand new free wide screen? Then again, I do legally represent Satan. And he says ‘Go fer it!’. Those were his words.
Nope, don’t take the TV. Well you already have the TV, just don’t take another one. Sad that you even have to ask. Who do you think ends up paying for mistakes like this, even if it was the store’s fault? Definitely not the store.
Good for you if you do the right thing.
I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
jayburner, you do know it is not allowed to have two screen names, right?

For most people, television is a mirror.
Most people are watching TV.
My inner voice is constantly singing catchy jingles from television commercials.
2 TVs is 2 2 many, 2Sexy.
What game are YOU playing?
Congrats to 2Sexy (I’ve been wondering what Right Said Fred has been up to lately…now I know!). Don’t condem him/her for asking- this is the same process most people go through upon finding a wad of cash or being presented with this kind of moral test. He/she’s just thinking out loud about it.
Little word of advice- when I began being as honest as I could, even in the face of overwhelming temptation, I started getting rewarded tenfold. Try it! You’ll see.

Voted “Most Empathetic”- can you believe that?
thanks dopers, I just woke up and made a coffee, I’ve read all your replys and I’m not going to take the t.v, even though it would be so easy. Btw Coldfire, my brother got banned…not me. If I went against the rules, let the admins know and get me banned…
Well the matter has been taken outta my hands…my brother phoned the company while I was still asleep, and they are delivering the t.v tomorrow morning…shrugs oh well
Return it. Refuse delivery.
Stupidity runs in the family, I see.

Follow this link to a long but interesting story. It seems like anyone can justify stealing if you make enough excuses.

What Rysdad said, refuse delivery.
Capitalizing on someone else’s mistake like this is no different than deciding to walk off with your neighbor’s TV since they forgot to lock their door going to work: “Hey, they goofed, too bad!”
Maybe I’m just a little dense here, but how do you figure that your role as accessory to a crime qualifies as having the matter taken out of your hands?
Is it just because you expect a lighter sentence?
Putz.

Let’s leave morality and ethics out of this for a minute.
It seems to me that if you paid for a TV and got a TV then all is in balance.
If you had paid for the TV but had to leave the store quickly, and came back later to pick it up only to have the store say “too bad you screwed up,” would you accept that as a justification?
And if you’re upset by their annoying commercials, wouldn’t it be better to take the direct approach and tell the store management that you won’t shop there until they change their commercials?
I understand all the words, they just don’t make sense together like that.
Literally true, Dr. Watson. I mentioned this to a police friend of mine last night and he thinks that if the “mistake” were discovered by the store, 2Sexy could be charged with theft. The store might take the television back and not press it, but you never know.
Food for thought, if this situation is unclear from an ethical perspective. I don’t think it is, but that’s me.
