Way to go, Zakalwe!

IQs:

Did the production crew have to dig up the studio floor when filming a movie about you?
Were you narrowly defeated for the Presidency when the votes of California came in?
Were you revealed to be the merry prankster of your particular organization, much to everyone’s surprise?

If I may be so bold as to suggest, it’s easier to think of DQ answers when expressed in the affirmative, so would it be accurate to say that this person is…?:

  1. male
  2. real
  3. American
  4. First name starts with C
  5. dead

Recasting number 4 like that loses information - all of my first three guesses were invalidated by the original number 4, but not by the recast one.

The leading Barbizon painter is Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, while Gustave Courbet lead the Realist movement. Correct, of course, on Chomsky.

IQ: Are you a railroad tycoon with several descendants that shared your name?

IQ) I am not Erastus Corning.

I don’t even know who that is. It’s definitely not who I meant, but a quick wiki shows it fits the description provided.

IQ: Are you a railroad tycoon with several descendants and a university that shared your name?

Yes! I am:

Cornelius Vanderbilt!

Great job with the quick follow up! For what it’s worth, Corning is the guy who founded the railroad that Vanderbilt built into an empire so they are closely tied (and why I knew who Erastus was). It also factored into the decision to pick Vanderbilt, since a lot of the qualifiers could equally apply to Corning - it gave me an out.

It’s all yours!

And well done again, Draelin!
