More Great Covers

Ah, so it is, as I know see many pointed that out in the comments section on YouTube. I personally never read the comments section of YouTube because many subhuman miscreants post there.

Thanks for the info.

I’ve probably mentioned it before but this Spanish punk classic is a cover. Not saying of what, just that you will know the original. I love watching people’s reactions when they recognize it. Some find it offensive, some hilarious, but I’ve never seen a mild reaction.
I had a project in France last year where the client only brought two women to meetings (in a team of over 90 people). One had the original as her ringtone, the other one a French cover.

I prefer the Pretenders cover of Creep to the original.

Primus doing Pink Floyd’s ‘Have a Cigar’.

Susannah Hoffs doing Rod Stewart’s ‘Maggie May’

A recent, rather spectacular, release: Sturgill Simpson doing Nirvana’s “In Bloom”.

“Boyz In The Hood” by Dynamite Hack.

The Austin Lounge Lizards doing Pink Floyd’s “Brain Damage”.

Cameo’s “Word Up” by KoRn.

Finally, Ben Folds and Rufus Wainwright doing Wham’s! “Careless Whisper”.

Coil “Tainted Love” (originally by Soft Cell)

I might get some flack for this one but it absolutely blew my mind.

Train- Yes, that Train, doing a reallly credible Led Zeppelin II Album cover.

The Lemon Song is particularly well done.

Okay, I got one, but first a little set up.

[li]This young lady singing is 14 years old[/li][li]This was her first time performing in front of an audience, other than a few talent show type things at her high school.[/li][li]She only ran through the song with the musicians a couple of times in a hasty rehearsal.[/li][/ul]
I was there when this was recorded. There was not a dry eye in the place.

“New York State of Mind”

You misspelled Gloria Jones.

Social Distortion - Ring of Fire (originally by Johnny Cash)

Johnny Cash - Hurt (originally NiN)

That was really amazing.

Joy Division “transmission” performed by Girl in a Coma. and “walking after midnight” by same band.

I have such a love for Joy Division. That music came along in a time in my life when I really needed it.

Another great Joy Division cover:

Codeine: “Atmosphere

You might like Warren Zevon’s version.

I’m partial to Groupo Fantasma singing “Porque”, the Spanish version of The Beatles “Because”.

I give you The Dickies

They have doing great punk covers since the 70’s

Eve of Destruction
the Sound of Silence
Silent Night
Knights in White Satin
Paranoid
Communication Breakdown
Gigantor
and Banana Splits theme song

Another one from Bauhaus, “Telegram Sam”. (T. Rex)

Carolina Chocolate Drops - “Hit 'Em Up Style” (Blu Cantrell)

The Afghan Whigs - “Creep” (TLC)

I have always enjoyed this Human League cover of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling

I prefer Wall of Voodoo’s version.

Wow. That was fun. I’ll have to play it for my wife who is a Cash fan.

That link led me to another great Bauhaus cover of Brian Eno’s “Third Uncle

And here’s a fine cover of Bauhaus — Faith and the Muse doing “Hollow Hills
