What do you mean “if”?
As is mine toward you, madam.
I tried explaining this to him myself and got nowhere. (Well, not exactly nowhere. He used the fact that I wasn’t all that het up about DDT in the first place and had never heard of Rachael Carson to assail my expert status on the '60’s - a self-professed status that exists only in his mind.) Perhaps coming from you he’ll see he was wrong - though I doubt I’ll ever hear about it if he does. At any rate, I thank you for overcoming your animus long enough to try to get through to him on my behalf.
It’s hardly just right wing loons who’ve made such criticisms unless you want to classify Nicholas Kristoff of The New York Times to be a right-wing loon.
He’s written extensively on how banning the use of DDT in certain third world countries was a huge mistakes and led to malaria outbreaks which killed many and how some countries, such as Vietnam were able to dramatically reduce malaria-related deaths through judicious use of DDT.
I should note that he makes it clear he thinks it should still be banned in most First World countries and discusses how it’s a very complicated question which which has been twisted by propaganda on both sides.
That said, this is a bit off-topic and should be dealt with in another thread IMHO.
