Jimmy Kimmel recently sent a crew to the street to ask people which they prefer: Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act?
The only thing it proves and is that people are basically stupid.
Is it not also the case that polls show that very many Republican voters mostly prefer Democratic Party policies over their Republican counterparts (so long as they are not told which party actually holds the policy in question, of course)?
What to the people in this video, having had their ignorance paraded on national TV, do now? Do they move to Alaska and break off contact with all friends and family? Do they get plastic surgery and enter a moron protection program?
The GOP is a very big tent.
Or that people will pretend they understand a given topic if there’s the chance it will get them on TV.
I wonder why only one person was shown being told that the two acts were the same. Did the others get pissed about their stupidity possibly being shown on TV* and refuse to sign a release?
*Not that this bothers some people
Eh, we’ve been playing this game a long time. “Death taxes” are more unpopular than “estate taxes.” “Public” health care is way more popular than “government-run” health care. “Socialism” is frowned upon, “government services” are well liked.
You’ll notice it’s pretty much always one side that does the creative renaming, too.
That’d be a “witless protection program”.
