More racist TV from Australia lol!

Maybe groaning over interracial dating doesn’t make sense but it does have a basis in reality. Just the pop culture references alone should be enough to convince you.

“Where all the white women at?” -Blazing Saddles
“Black man’s kryptonite” -Undercover Brother
“God bless mommy and daddy and please send me a white girl.” -Chris Rock(One of his HBO standup specials)
“I’ve always wanted to be black(beat) so I could get the white women.” -Louie Anderson
Jungle Fever
Othello (even the board game pieces are black and white)

None of that makes sense without the stereotype.

The point about castration/anti-miscegenation was that white men felt the need to protect white women from black men. And as I pointed out before we’ve already had this exact controversy with TO/NS, no other countries involved. If the stereotype was dead, why would these types of things make news all the time?

Incidentally I checked wikipedia’s entry on interracial marriage and those stats are more in line with what I’ve perceived.

One more thing. I googled interracial fucking and clicked on a few sites. Pretty much all the images were BM/WW. No reference to race but for some reason interracial overwhelmingly means black man/white woman.

Seems to me the preliminary issue is not whether such porn themes exist, but whether they are widespread in Australia.

Yeah that is the main point.

For some reason?

And here:

Sounds like black women are getting the cold shoulder, and media is either following the trend or is biased for the same underlying reason. Either way, this doesn’t fit the narrative of The Man arbitrarily imposing an inaccurate narrative.

Well, of course. The narrative of The Man arbitrarily imposing an inaccurate narrative is an inaccurate narrative arbitrarily imposed by The Man. Wheels within wheels…

Is there Aboriginal man/white woman porn in Australia? Do people believe that Aboriginals have large penises? What about the Maori in New Zealand?

And yet 95% of black men who are married are married to a black woman. My point is that the stereotype exists, it came about because of the racial history of the US and so no it wasn’t arbitrarily imposed at all. Interracial dating used to be serious business in the US.

But back to the OP. Meh on the racism meter for me but what’s with the outrage over the outrage?

“Did you ever do a black guy?” -Howard Stern

Interesting questions - anyone from Australia/New Zealand?

So, sooooooooo not, believe me.

Stereeotypes of aborigines tend towards the “unemployed cheap wine swilling dropout” end of the spectrum. Certainly not sexual attractiveness or large equipment.

There have been sex-related controversies in recent years, but they all center round rape and abuse of Aboriginal women. Young Aboriginal women in particular.

I can’t speak to the existence of “Aboriginal man/white woman porn” or not - I know absolutely nothing about that industry. But I’d be amazed…

That’s quite a typo.

While I’m not about to state there isn’t specialist Maori-slash-Pakeha porn – the existence of rule #34 practically guarantees it – the whole “interracial” concept / trope (?) just isn’t prevalent here. WAG – it may be that the “forbidden” angle was just never as big a deal; intermarriage has been happening since the earliest settler days, and lots of folks have some Maori or Polynesian ancestry.

It just goes to show that there is bugger-all to complain about here in the vast brown land down under. We have our share of Sh*t Stirrers who get a bit desperate and are always on the lookout for a cause. This isn’t even an Australian Game - the whole Froth an Bubble in an American Imported and contrived joke.
Women who don’t feel equal enough do the same sort of thing. They create an arguement with a bloke who is just minding his business about equality. These girls don’t have a life. They have lost their way from the recipe pages to the latch hook patterns and get ugly (no offence).

OZPY Australia

To my mind, that basically ends the argument. If it isn’t a trope in Australia, the ad can’t be playing to the trope - because the trope has no traction there.

Australian here - I know that in the USA there’s been a major narrative weaving together sex/race/power/slavery/taboo/segregation/virility (hey, I’ve read Malcolm X!) that persists to this day. In Australia though we’ve never had a large slave population along racial lines (I understand that years ago there were many Pacific and Solomon Island slaves working in northern Queensland, but this hasn’t featured prominently in the public discourse) or (official) segregation; and there has certainly never been some narrative about black men coming to take all the European women.

Honestly most people, sadly, generally consider Indigenous Australians to be pretty much asexual - most people’s concept of Aborigines is shaped largely – and I’ll repeat unfortunately – either by the inner-city homeless or tales of squalor from remote communities. Having been on the Internet for years I’m of course aware of the whole “enormously hung black man coming to do what your tiny white penis can’t” meme, but just assumed that was a specific fetish. I’ve certainly never heard a similar story about Indigenous Australians.

I actually work with an Indigenous LGBT organisation at the moment, and the gay/bi Murri guys I work with don’t generally have to contend with the “big black sex god” trope when finding a partner; but rather “you’re probably unemployed/homeless/alcoholic/a paint sniffer/a criminal”, which just breaks my heart.

I’m bandwidth-poor right now and haven’t seen the ad in question, so I won’t specifically comment on it. I’m not about to defend the piece (as I mentioned, I’ve not seen it - it could be big-lipped mammies and blackface for all I know), just giving some context re: Australian cultural narratives.
