This is so cool! Tonight on campus there’s a lecture being given called “The Simpsons Rule: Mathematical Morsels from the Simpsons”.

From link:
Professor Greenwald will use clips from various episodes to introduce and explore the related mathematical content, accuracy and pedagogical value. She has documented more than one hundred instances of mathematics on The Simpsons from arithmetic, to calculus, to Riemannian geometry.
This is nearly (but not quite) as cool as when we had an actual writer for the Simpsons give a talk.
Does Greenward hold an advanced degree in hyperbolic topology, nnnGlavin!
Wow, I remember when my school was banning everything Simpsons-related for being a bad influence.
This talk came to our school. It was disappointing. If you are a simpsons fan, you already know about the stuff they are talking about. Too bad, though. It could have been really cool.
[sniff] I could do a cool one.
