Mormonism

Obviously we’re talking about two different things here. I’m talking about anti-Mormons lying about their past as “Mormons.” You’re talking about something else entirely.

Yes, I’m just completely confident that I would get the correct picture of Catholicism from an angry former Catholic who would do anything to discredit that church (including lie).

Sure, I can think of two things that would shake my faith. 1) If the Lord told me through personal revelation that my church wasn’t true. 2) If the prophet started preaching anti-Mormon doctrine. Neither of these things is going to happen, my friend, so my faith is secure.

So we can’t trust ex(certain religion) and we can’t trust non(certain religions) to critique a religion. The only ones we can trust to comment on a religion, are the current faithful? Boy! you really are covering your assets!

Wow! blinders feelin a little tight?

I’m sure if the “lord” told you mormonism was false, you’d assume it was the devil. (what other choice would you have)
BTW, maybe they lord sent me to tell you this! (hint hint)
And Second, your #2 has allready happened. But all “good” mormons call it a “revelation”

Everytime a prophet has one, he starts preaching the new, (previously anti-mormon), doctrine.
I could be wrong…it happend once before…

You do have a point. But I don’t think a disgruntled ex[certain religion] is going to give us the whole story, somehow…

You’re “sure,” huh? Gee, it’s nice to have someone else tell you what you would believe if a certain event happened. You must know me better than I know myself, BB! The Lord is well able to identify Himself unmistakeably in a way Satan cannot imitate. It can be described as a “burning in the bosom,” a great feeling of peace and love, etc. Satan can’t mimic those, though he tries.

Please give one example of a prophet having a revelation that is “anti-Mormon” in nature. The Manifesto that suspended the practice of polygamy doesn’t count, nor does the revelation that blacks could now hold the LDS priesthood, since those two revelations were not “anti-Mormon” in nature (the suspension of polygamy was to preserve the church, not to attack it, and it didn’t change the doctrine of polygamy–it merely suspended the practice, which will recommence after Christ returns; and the revelation that blacks could hold the priesthood was the fulfillment of prophecy, not in the least bit “anti-Mormon”).
