It’s amazing that you don’t “believe” in same-sex relationships when they’re visible all around you, yet you ARE able to believe that God wants you to wear special underwear and avoid coffee.
Ooo… pain… hurts… ow…

Diane,
As a long-time lurker, occasional poster, let me add “Me too.” I’ve watched the Vanilla/Snark thing, (although I missed the breakup) and am getting frankly disgusted with watching Vanilla snipe at Snark and dredge their personal issues up (Esprix commented on this too).
The private stuff one learns about someone in a relationship should stay private after the breakup. Anything else is just pathetic.

It still amazes me that anyoen would think I am throwing digs or insults at snark.
I cannot imagine it as I do not feel any ill will towards him. I was questioning, as lots of others here have, Mormonism.
I thought I could get answers. I am wondering why being who he is makes him miserable.
I cannot see what you people are seeing; that it seems I am insulting him; I have no clue how anyone could take it that way, he certainly didn’t tell me so a few hours ago.
May as well call me clueless, since I amc certainly not vindictive in the least.
I am stumped.
I have not posted any “private stuff” about snark. He has posted everything I have ever mentioned and then some.
Apparently its wrong of me to even discuss Mormonism or homosexuality on the sdmb.
ANy mention of snark, even saying what color he likes will be construed as an “insult” against him.
Or maybe you guys who have thought I was insulting him are the ones who are clueless.
I will never mention his name again since it offends everyone here so much.
He also knows I wish him the best and we e mail regularly.
but thanks, Satan. I love you too.
Rose, you may not intend to snipe at Snark, but it sure looks that way from out here.
[Let me preface this by stating that I pre-consent to the deletion of this post by either of the people named in it if it in any way offends either of them. John, Alphagene, Lynn, please honor their wishes if they so request. Thanks!]
My distinct impression of the Vanilla/Snark situation is that Rose has absolutely no problem with Bill’s sexuality. She is concerned (and in her inimitable style makes public comments to that effect) about his problems in coming to terms with it himself. And she is at sea about the problems his religious beliefs have caused, both as regards his own self-image and with regard to their relationship, and brought the subject up here because as a Mormon who has (he would say “suffers from”) same-sex attraction, he is the obvious person to comment in detail on the subject matter Esprix began this thread with, way back when.
Without going into any personal-life details, have I summarized things accurately for the two of you? I don’t see Rose as “sniping” – though I certainly can see where her comments, if read as vindictive, would be considered such. But my distinct impression is that she accepts Bill’s sexuality without reservation, and wishes that he would.
Thank you Poly. You “got it” right.
Maybe someday Mormonism will change to allow homosexuality, after all, they did change their stance on blacks.
So there is hope after all.
I don’t think they will ever “change to allow homosexuality,” as that is not what they are about.
I do wish they would quit the fucking lobbying techniques against those who do not chare their views, however, which is the crux of this thread, I think. Or was, at any rate…
Yer pal,

What is their stance of the boy scouts regarding not allowing homosexuals in or as leaders?
I thought they supported the scouts fully.
What if the scouts adopt a everybody welcome stance, including homosexuals?
Would the church still support the scouts?
My bet is if the Scouts accepted homosexuals, the lds would bail. After all, they don’t support Girl Scouts for their girls they way they do Boy Scouts for boys–teaches girls to be independent, doncha know.
I just want to know when the IRS is going to investigate their tax exempt status since they have become a lobbying group against changes in civil marriage laws.
