I’m female. I would put on deodorant, hair gel, then brush.
Current morning routine:
Get out of bed (usually buried under a pile of kids - okay, just two - who like to come into bed with us in the morning)
Pee
Shower
Deodorant
Put on Clothes
Brush teeth
Makeup
Get oldest kid into clothes
Make coffee, take meds, get oldest kid started on breakfast
Pack kids’ bags
Pack my bags (lunch, breast pump)
Feed youngest kid if necessary (depends on when she last nursed)
Prepare travel mug of coffee, take-along-breakfast
Put all our crap into the car
Kiss husband
Leave
There are usually a few other odds and ends in there, like washing the occasional dish if I’m not pressed for time, but that’s the basic routine.
Of course I do. Why on earth would you eat/drink coffee after your teeth were all clean?
ObTopic: for me it’d be hair gel while hair is still damp from the shower, then deodorant once I’m dry and dressing, then tooth brushing last thing before running out the door.
argue with cats about it being a workday or a saturday
pee (and or poop)
shower
shave (while facial hair is still soft from shower)
teeth things
curse at cats for sleeping in
dress: boxers, socks (if i HAVE to, sometimes not), pants, shirt
pack gym bag
try to find wallet
pee (yes again)
leave
For me, it depends on the day.
Pee
Stumble to couch, turn on computer, get logged in
Work while TheKid uses the sole bathroom to get ready for school
If I’m at home, I’ll take an early break after she’s left to shower and brush teeth (I brush my teeth while I have conditioner in my hair).
If I’m in office, I would have showered the night before, so once she’s left I’ll pit stick, get dressed, brush hair, brush teeth, feed the cat, and out the door.
Pee
Shower
Shave (still in shower, using fog-free mirror, brush and shaving soap in a mug…the only way!!)
Apply deodorant (after but still in the shower; the “deodorant stone” variety calls for wet pits)
Brush hair
Breakfast
Get dressed
Brush teeth
Let me see. Pee first, then shower. Comb hair so it doesn’t dry funny. Shave if necessary. Deodorant. Then put on my underwear and brush my teeth before ironing the clothes I’m going to wear.
I don’t really do anything product-wise with my hair most days - I run my fingers through it rather than brush it so the curls stay - and then I usually put in a headband or something to keep it out of my eyes. I brush it at night so it stays soft though . . . Anyway, so that means I usually keep it up in a towel while I’m getting ready - and right before I leave I take off the towel, run my fingers through it - throw on my shirt - and head out the door.
I used to brush my teeth last but then I’d get toothpaste on my shirt sometimes and I hate that. So even if for some strange reason I don’t brush it before I shower, I will still brush it before I do my hair/put on my shirt.
First a question - all you people who get up and brush/floss teeth first thing - why are you flossing? What’s the point? If you’re conscientious enough to floss every morning, then I’m assuming you also take care of your teeth at night. If you didn’t eat anything during the night, what is there to floss in the morning?
For the OP’s order:
teeth, hair (brush maybe, put in ponytail), deodorant
My own schedule:
pee
brush teeth
deal with puppies
After that, my day is different pretty much every day.
Feed the cat. He always has food left over in his bowl, and he only has a couple bites when I feed him, but geez the fuss he makes. I’m pretty sure this has less to do with actual hunger than in passing some test he has set up for me.
Shower.
Breakfast.
Get dressed.
Or whatever. I have no purpose in life right now so I can shuffle it up at will.
My order: Complain about having to go to work, shower, deodorant, brush teeth, wash face, hair, make up, complain about having to go to work, clothing, spend 5 minutes looking for my keys.
I picked that order because it seems like the most logical order to do things in. I shouldn’t put on deodorant before showing, or dress before deodorant. I suppose I could move brushing my teeth ahead of showering, but most of the routine would be a poor choice if placed in any other sequence.
I’d probably put the deodorant on first, so it can dry and not just rub off on my shirt, then do my hair, then brush my teeth last. Thinking about how I actually do things, I don’t know why I would say this.
In real life, I use wax, which has to go in while my hair is still damp. Then I brush my teeth before I get dressed, to avoid getting the front of my clothes damp (I’m not at my best first thing!), and put my deodorant on after brushing. I use mouthwash before I leave the house, last thing every day, to avoid inflicting the milky breath on anyone.
Female.
Pee.
Feed the dogs.
Check my glucose level.
Take my handful of pills.
Drink coffee.
Take shower.
Comb hair.
Dry ears with a Q-tip.
Brush and floss teeth.
Rinse with mouthwash.
Apply deodorant.
Apply baby powder to nether regions.
Apply lotion to feet.
Put on makeup.
Get dressed.
Gather stuff for work, including food for breakfast.
Drive to work.
Brush my teeth as soon as I get up (hate morning mouth). Put on deodorant as soon as I get out of the shower and dry my pits, to give it a chance to set and not smear all over my clothes when I put them on. Hair last, because I leave it wrapped in a towel until after I’m dressed to soak up most of the water from the shower.
curse the fact that it’s not the weekend, pee, drink coffee, eat something (i’m always ravenous when I wake up), shower, brush teeth, moisturize, put contacts in, put gel in hair, put make-up on, get dressed, leave.
Thank god the SO takes care of the cats, because the above is pretty much all I can handle.
