Mornington Crescent question

Paddington.

A very unusual move from ianzin, but by George (snort) it’s a good one! I’m starting to feel really out of my depth here, I’m very rusty having not played for nearly a year due to injury.

Paddington.

Back at Paddington, I see. I ran my latest sims to see if I can play MC this time. But my sim program shot itself.

So time for the three-line station at Victoria.

Royal Oak,

stirrups interrupted, Tudor Court Rules reinstated.

Oh, hell. Right - time for affirmative action with Elephant & Castle.

Because it closed in 2007. Was part of the East London line.

This is what I get for not updating my notes.

Nay, I’ve ‘ad about enough o’ this gawdawful mess. [/Thick Yorkshire accent]

Harrow-on-the-Hill. Tudor Court rules revoked.

Hogwarts

I beg your pardon. This isn’t Fantasy MC, my good man.

Edgware Road, and the straddle.

A Bakerloo Straddle - reminds me of the Ko Kho Khao invitational in '76 where I had the pleasure of being an official sub recorder. I saw some moves that, frankly, I have no idea if they were legal by Tudor rules, but were certainly entertaining.

Any more of this, and we’ll have to deal with Tumpington’s Wicket, and I don’t have to tell you what that involves.

Ordinarily I’d return to Paddington and make it a triple straddle, but 'Ware Tumptington! I therefore play Baker Street and avert the straddle.

OK, I think it’s time for Fulham Broadway. The gloves are well and truly off, now - dare I say that I can feel the early endgame coming on?

Bank,

and I take advantage of the Exchange Rate Spike due to Tumptington’s Averted to exchange all, yes ALL, my gold tokens for…brass! Yes, it’s unorthodox, I grant you, but I may be on to a Nefarious Plan.

I think it’s more of an early end to the late midgame.

I’m concerned about Wargamer’s token conversion. He may be on to something there. I can’t find any useful discussion in MC For Dummies volumes 8 through 10, nor in MC According to Hoyle (2006), so I have no idea what his Nefarios Plan ™ might be.

So I’ll play Burnt Oak and challenge for the Ashes.

Earl’s Court.

I’ll drop two of my brass tokens in

Goldhawk Road.

Muwhahahaha!

No-one seems to have noticed that when Dead Cat played Fulham B. he opened up what was effectively a classic ‘archer’s elbow’ configuration along the District Line (because we had already had Harrow-on-the-Hill, a Met. line stn) thereby making it perfectly legal for Wargamer, who went for Bank, to have gone the extra station and played Moorgate, which I believe would have given him MC in 3 against any defence. Of course, that chance has gone now because we’ve had Burnt Oak, which starts and ends with the same letters as Bank, thus nullifying the equivalent name rule.

Mill Hill East, and ruff.

Ickenham and slough two (red) tokens.

Actually, now that I think about it, playing Ickenham is technically an overruff. Could have held on to my tokens. Ah, well.

[Snort] - I was going to add “amateur”, but that would definitely be unfair based on your previous play. These things happen to the best of us, my friend.

Amersham. I’m not sure how many terminuses that gives me, but it’s got to be strong.
