Mornington Crescent Thread

Gather for the tournament. I shall take on any competitors who feel they can beat me at this most noble of games.
Crabbett’s rule will be invoked, so any bilateral shifts south of the River will be wild and the Jubilee Line extension is out of bounds.
Let the game begin…

My move:

Baker Street

With the Jubilee extension line out of bounds are you allowing lateral-node crossing on the DLR as compensation for East End moves?

I’m a bit too busy to participate right now, and Crabbett’s rule cramps my style a bit since I’m keen on play South of the river (much neglected IMHO).

But Baker Street: Solid first move.

Well, this is pretty much a standard opening, and I’m wary of playing into your hands, but…

Shepherd’s Bush.

OK…using the standard reply to that under these conditions

Goldhawk Road

I am not sure you are really taking it seriously… let’s see… Bank.

Some fairly amateur play so far, I’d say, though I do seem to be blocked for the Northern Line.

That being so I’d have to go Fulham B’way.

Usually the Central Line gambit is denied! This is real good old school stuff.

Well that’s harsh, a little old fashioned maybe.

I have no idea what’s going on so I’ll say…

Miss Peacock in the Conservatory with a candlestick.

Sorry, that was a bit rude.

Still, noone yet has trumped my move.

Note the nationality of all the participants so far… and see if you can find the plot

Elephant and Castle. HA!

Good move, my son!

And it invokes the south of the river shift.

I shall need to think.

I should say. Remember those bi-laterals, now you’re SotR how about the DLR. I’m guessing that Iceland-B is uncomfortable SotR (since he invoked Crabbett).

Keep it clean guys, and see if you get play out of zones 1 & 2.

Hmmm … the lower zones. Always a challenge.

How about Tooting Bec?

Very foolish, Ithaca. You’ve left Brixton wide open.

flies in again Regent’s Park!

I’m always up for a shuffle off to Buffalo. Or, in this case, Boston Manor.

Assuming the DLR is in play, my favorite: Mudchute.

Yes, the Docklands makes things much more interesting. Stratford.
