Most Americans oppose offshoring. We need to take action.

Mostly, we (South Africa) are a locus of offshoring ourselves - call centres and IT development sweatshops. We’re getting some of that business because of English being a first language for many, and because we are in the same timezone as Europe.

Reminder: Calling other posters cunts is forbidden under the Pit language restrictions.

No warning issued.

Hahahahaha, wow, take offense much? Obviously it’s against some arbitrary rules to call an involuntarily celibate turd burglar like you a name like that, so oh well. Wish bad things on me all you want. Just don’t wish your horrible excuse of a life upon me and I’m cool with it.

Oh and… I don’t care if you’re willing or not. There are definitely anti-offshoring people around here who are sick and tired of listening to the tired worn-out and off-base bullshit that fuckturds like Blockhead Mace and emacknight pass off as arguments and logic.

Almost 90% of all people out there in this country want to see offshoring go away. You guys have zero idea how much ground you’re losing here with your stupid arguments.
You can whine all day about argumentum ad populum

but in reality it’s called “we the people are seeing right through you”.

Facts have a conservative bias? In whose universe? Certainly not on Earth. But hey, at least now the real cause of your mental dysfunctions and inability to present facts or logical reasoning have been laid bare.

Actually you’re making fun of yourself.

It might be worth thinking about starting to warn this one. For over-acting, if nothing else.

I already said that. Hardly anything that you can plug into a wall is made in the U.S. anymore. But their support staff is in the U.S. - unlike Dell.

Dell, Systemax, they all produce the same Chinese made crap. Whoever will provide me with support by AMERICAN workers is where I go.

If someone starts making computer equipment in the U.S., I’ll switch to them, too.

Apparently ignorance has more of a conservative bias than facts, turd burglar boy.

In today’s digital world you can trace incoming and outgoing calls. If your call is routed offshore there’s a digital paper trail. This can be audited and subjected to a tax.

You don’t need to verify the citizenship of the guy on the phone. Unless they’re “illegally”* here in the U.S. in which case you can verify their social security number.

  • Sometimes I feel I’m gonna choke to death on that word… considering this country belonged to those so-called “illegals” before white settlers came here and wiped them out. Illegal my ass…

Well, aren’t you brave.

If you’re not careful, Shit-for-Brains will make you “powerless” by putting you on ignore.

Oh and Emacknight, speaking of “things produced in non-white countries”…

Why don’t you look up African American unemployment rates. Go ahead. I’ll wait.

Hopefully that’ll give you an idea of who suffers the MOST from offshoring. Hint: it ain’t white people.

And 0% are willing to pay for it.

Tell me something, if Apple can sell a million ipods when priced at $300, when the price is raised to $1500 will they sell:
a) More
b) Less
c) The same
d)

e)

Great, and you’ll continue to support offshoring.

Come on, do the noble thing and throw out these demon possessions!

Rid your home of these toxins!

Don’t just encourage your followers to vote, insist that they purify!

Only then will you truly understand and fucking ridiculous the idea of tariffs truly are.

PDF from the Department of Labour

Seems like black teenagers without a highschool diploma got hit the hardest. Now if only the US could get more low wage, unskilled, labour for them to work on…

BTW Biggest change was Teenagers (16 to 19 years) going from 26.8% to 24.6%

Wrong again.
These guys do great business. And not just with me.

When you lay people off and they’re earning $0 will you sell
a) more
b) less
c) the same

number of goods?

Going by your logic we should lay everyone off and replace them with dollar-an-hour workers.

Looks like facts have an anti-emacknight bias again.

BTW another fact that has an anti-emacknight bias:

America isn’t a white country. Whites are the majority for now but there is a substantial non-white populace here and whites won’t be the majority by 2050. In fact this last year it’s projected that more non-white babies were born than white babies.

FYI offshoring has more opposition among non-whites than among whites. As the population shifts to a racially multilateral society turd burglar pro-offshoring fucktards like you will only be found in a museum.

Still more evasion.

If Apple can sell a million ipods when priced at $300, when the price is raised to $1500 will they sell more, less, the same?

If you are going to argue in favour of tariffs (which raise the price of imported goods) you need to be able to answer a very simple and very basic question. What is this, the 6th time you’ve been unable to answer this question? You clearly don’t know the answer, but the answer is vital to how tariffs work. Ergo, you don’t know how tariffs work, so you really shouldn’t be organizing people to vote for something you clearly don’t understand.

Plastic jewel cases? Do you have any idea how those are made and how few people it takes to make them?

Secondly, do you know where he buys his plastic?

No, you’re evading me.

If you’re going to argue in favor of offshoring then you must accept that things get more affordable as you replace American workers with lower paid workers.

I’ve answered your question several times in the other forum. Several times.

You are scared to deal with the ramifications of laying off American workers and its effect on how many people will be left to buy iPods.

In any case I’ve run out of time to deal with you and you’ve run out of arguments. And relevance.

Feel free to cut and paste from where you actually answered the question. If you did it several times it should be very easy for you to find.

Once again: If Apple can sell a million ipods when priced at $300, when the price is raised to $1500 will they sell more, less, the same?

Since you seem kind of hung up on unemployment rates, perhaps a followup question:

If Apple can’t sell as many ipods (if demand goes down and with it revenue), will they continue to employ the same number of people, more people, or fewer people?

Right now Apple employs a handful of people in America, let’s say 10. If they can’t sell ipods, would they continue to employ those people? Or would they hire more?

I’d appreciate a cite to at least one of those answers, as I don’t read you in GD, yet it seems a perfectly reasonable question.

emacknight, he doesn’t get what you are asking. He thinks that due to offshoring that American’s in general are on the cusp of not being able to buy any iPods at all…ever. This is (according to him) solely due to sending those good assembly jobs to China and other places where they use cheap brown or yellow laborers, instead of real American labor, as the gods intended. He’s going to keep giving you the same answer over and over, because to him it answers your question…if Apple moves back to the US and has to expand the price to $1500 they will sell more iPods/iPads/iPhones/iEtc than they would at $300 because now the American people will be fully employed and have the money to spend that they don’t now, since they are wallowing in crushing misery and massive unemployment.
