Most analyzed female tv character?

On YouTube I’ve hit a seam of Gilmore Girls shorts and apparently watching them has put me on the recommended list of analyses of Rory Gilmore - of which there seem to be a bazillion. Before this weekend, I’d have assumed SJP’s character in “Sex and the City” held the title, but Rory’s being passionately discussed and uploaded about much more than that show. The revival “Year in the Life” episode seemed to spark almost universal outrage at the character, the world, or (most often) both. Has another tv character been subject to this phenomenon more?

Murphy Brown.

Buffy Summers (i.e. Buffy The Vampire Slayer).

There was a lot of discussion of Skyler White, at least during the run of Breaking Bad.

I’m going to have to go with Buffy Summers as well. There’s a whole Wikipedia page on Buffy Studies or Buffyology if you prefer.

Mary Ann.

Ally McBeal.

Marge Simpson. Has anybody not wondered why she’s still married to that oaf?

Elaine on Seinfeld.

Penny on TBBT.

Uhura on TOS.

Agreed. There are many academic books and articles about Buffy.

First thought that came to me. Extensive analyzing of her and the show itself.

2nd place might be Xena Signifying and Scripturalization in Xena: Warrior Princess – Pop Culture and Theology

Carmella Soprano.

Daenerys Targaryen

Lucy Ricardo.

Wonder Woman.
Whole books have been written…

Ginger!

Buffy for the win IMHO.

Let me add one more where this was my first thought. Still seeng articles about her and the show today.

In her time, Mary Richards

In all time, Lucy Ricardo

To be fair, Buffy essentially got two bites at the apple when it comes to being analyzed – all of the initial analysis about what the character had to say about feminism and female empowerment, and all of the frantic reexaminations that occurred when everything came out about Joss.
