Most annoying song you could play on an actual jukebox?

MaxTorque

I hope never to find those on a Jukebox ever, in the meantime if you remember any more like that - keep them to yourself - its you little secret, OK?

One time is (sorta) fun, but 10 plays in a row of, “The Chipmunk [Christmas] Song,” would have me reaching for pencils to jam in my ears, point first.

Tis the season.

No. Just no. If I had been in the rec center and had known who did that, much non-hilarity would ensue.

That song is an abomination. If I had a time machine, I would go back and use a shotgun on the composer, and probably his parents just to make sure. And his dog.

Elvira,
Giddy Up ahoom Papa Mau Mau.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

A man after my own heart. As I said up-thread.

Since you bring up the dog, how about this version of Jingle Bells? :evil grin:

For the second example, even once is not okay.

Hearing it once is like hearing it ten times in a row, very irritating. Who knew you could have an entire song by just repeating something stupid.

No this is the most annoying version of “Jingle Bells”.

I like the cut of your jib, mister! Ouch my ears, MY EARS!!

The frenetic pacing, the prominent NYC adenoidal accent, the mindlessly repetitive words. Truly EEEvil!

This may be the most alliterative username/message combo I’ve ever seen. Intentional?

Somebody actually did this many many years ago in a pizza place I was in with my parents and siblings. (Shakey’s I think? it was too long ago). The song was “Seasons in the Sun” by Terry Jacks.
Just shoot me now.

My sister and brother-in-law have a favorite bar, across the street from which is a biker bar. Well, it seems there is, or more likely (due entirely to episodes like this) was, a smart-phone app that could stream all manner of songs to any jukebox with the same app installed. It could also let you see any nearby jukebox with this capability. You of course see where this is headed.

While sitting in their favorite bar and programming a couple of songs they liked into its jukebox, they discovered that the biker bar across the street had an accessible jukebox as well. And thus were the bikers in that bar that night treated to the entire “Muppet Movie” soundtrack.

Or Jethro Tull’s “Bungle in the Jungle”. That one had its major fans for a month or two.

I don’t recall that getting juke play even back in the big Rowen&Martin/Carson Show days.

Snoopy’s Christmas ------ of all the Snoopy/Red Baron songs that one still gets the heaviest play. Especially with the bells. Which reminds me of the Exorcist theme:

although the B-side version was always IMHO the better one
especially with how he announces all the instruments as they get added to the base notes. If you never heard that one do click the link - THAT I could take 5 times in a row. Just for being different.

I just thought of the Singing Nuns and Dominique. Way to high pitched for my ears.

I’m sure you love musical info tidbits as much as I, so:

There was a 45 of Mike Oldfield’s “Tubular Bells (Exorcist Theme).” I had it and was insane over it. The first link is not it. They took several snippets from the entire 25 minute A-side of TB and started over for a few seconds at the end 'til the fadeout. ETA: Should have searched first, here it is.

The second link is the B-side of the 45. The instrument announcing is done by Vivian Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.

For your consideration, I submit “They’re Coming To Take Me Away” by Napoleon XIV. It made the charts in 1966.

My Google-fu and YouTube were weak tonight and I couldn’t find the A-side. I had the .45 as well - still did until a couple years back when I passed all that stuff on to the third generation behind me as they got into vinyl. The B was far and away always my favorite.

“My Dingaling”, Chuck Berry.

There’s a Tear in my Beer. I heard an old drunk play it repeatedly. 10+ times. He actually pulled a chair up next to the Jukebox to replay it.

That’s a very good song.

Whenever I would play that, my brother would yell out bogus instruments: “Comb-and-tissue-paper,” “Ocarina,” “Jaw Harp,” etc… The wank.
