William Powell was suave. With a capital swaaaaaa.
I’m not seeing the Dorothy Hyson, either. But I was just thinking about this thread the other day, because that’s the kind of person I am, and I went to my copy of *The Films of Ronald Colman *and found a picture of Mr. Colman (who was even more suave than Mr. Powell) with Ann Harding in Condemned, an early 1929 talkie in which Mr. Colman is a prisoner on Devil’s Island and Miss Harding is the warden’s wife who loves him enough to help him escape, because he is so very suave.
I have seen that film and the picture in this book is far better than anything I have been able to find of Miss Harding on the Internet. She is ethereal and obviously too good for the warden.
