Your choice?
Does born in 1922 count? If so-
Ava Gardner (more pics hereand here) in my opinion rides circles around Marilyn.
If not, I’ll bid Sophia Loren, who was beautiful in her 20s but then only got more radiant and gorgeous. She still looks good at 76.
Raquel Welch (born 1940). Still a knockout.
Grace Kelly
I was going to say Dolly Parton but she was born in 1946, then I thought okay, I’ll say Cher, but she was also born in 1946.
I’ve always found Yoko Ono attractive (born in '33) and she still looks basically the same as she did in her younger years.
Loretta Lynn (born '35) is gorgeous in a very “normal” way, which went well with her everywoman image. She too still looks good today.
I always had the hots for Julie London. Why she married those two mutts, I’ll never know (Bobby Troupe and Jack Webb).
Second choice: Sophia Loren.
If you’re having trouble thinking of ladies from that era, there are a couple of three-year-old threads where lots of names were tossed out:

I believe my notion of the best looking of that crowd is Ann-Margret followed closely by Raquel Welch
I’m with you on Julie! Gal could flat sell some cigarettes!

Audrey Hepburn.
Next.
I watched some godawful movie on TCM the other day. All I can remember about it is Rita Hayworth.
For me, it’s a toss-up between Hayworth and Gene Tierney. Rita’s got the sexpot thing going. Tierney’s beauty is classic.
Maureen O’Hara was born in 1920, so she’s a couple of years older than you’re asking for, but I’ll include her anyway:
I was watching a Soviet war movie The Cranes are Flying on Youtube a while back, and was surprised by how attractive I found the lead actress, Tatyana Samojlova, since I usually find glamorous women distracting (ex-models who found jobs at the NYC DA’s office on Law and Order, etc.)
The movie was a big international hit, even though Khrushchev called her character a whore, and the Soviets wouldn’t let her move to Hollywood. Today she looks like a 75 year-old Russian woman; not like she would if she’d been allowed to come here and take care of herself like Elizabeth Taylor and Maureen O’Hara.
The latest movie with Rita looking good was Pal Joey but Kim Novak was too much prettier for her to shine through.
Ladies from the Gene Tierney era who always had my attention were:
Hedy Lamarr
Jean Peters
Jeanne Crain
Jean Simmons
Rhonda Fleming
Yvonne De Carlo
And I still think Elizabeth Taylor can look good if she’s fixed up to show off. But there was a day (Butterfield 8 and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and A Place in the Sun) when there was no better looking woman on the planet.
But let me second
Even with close-cropped hair in For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943) Ingrid was achingly beautiful!
She had a beautiful face and intriguing persona, but she’s a bit of waif and I’m not one to normally complain about that.
As an admirer of the more current Natalie Portman, Winona Ryder, and Audrey Tautou, I obviously do not mind waifs.
