The best looking woman born 1922-1942.

This thread is over.

Even though the thread has been declared over — more than once, it would appear — I’d still like to submit Jean Simmons.

(IIRC, I spent a good part of The Big Country wondering what possessed Gregory Peck to prefer Carroll Baker. Fortunately, he came to his senses by the time they rode off into the proverbial sunset.)

Natalie Wood.

Named in this thread have been Tatyana Samojlova, Lauren Bacall, Natalies Wood and Portman, all of whom with Jewish ancestry; which may indicate that beautiful Jewish women are to be found in greater proportion than their share of the overall population

Alas, Donna Reed was born in 1921, a year too early for this thread:

Otherwise I, too, would vote for Ingrid Bergman, even though she was born in 1915:

Is there another Yoko Ono other than the dog that broke up the Beatles?

My vote goes to Vanessa Redgrave, though Sophia Loren wins in the “beauty-that-keeps-on-giving” category.

Making it just under the wire, Genevieve Bujold (born July 1, 1942)

And Jane Fonda in Barbarella days.

Natalie Wood wasn’t Jewish, despite persistent rumors. She was Russian Orthodox. Here’s a picture of her grave with an orthodox cross on it

Well, if the OP started off with Mary Tyler Moore, then in keeping with the ‘girl next door who’s a knock-out’ look I counter with Elizabeth Montgomery (YOB 1938). Ok, not sultry like some of the aforementioned actresses, but very attractive at her peak (and I didn’t realize she passed away 15 years ago!).
I think she was quite attractive even as the ‘enemy’ solider in her dirty, torn uniform in the Twilight Zone episode ‘Two’ (probably the mini-skirt and fashionable boots that all female soliders wore on the battlefield during that period…).

Look closely: she was wall-eyed and could eat corn through a picket fence.

(These youngsters are OK, but I prefer the older ladies (in their youth):
Hedy Lamarr, Paulette Goddard, Gloria Stewart (old lady in Titanic) and Carole Lombard. All of them were stunning when young. Carole Lombard could step into a movie today without a thing changed.)

You’re thinking of Paul McCartney.

I’ve a feeling gonzomax wasn’t looking at her face.

I’ve always liked Angela Lansbury.

I’m gonna go with Barbara Eden.

Young Shirley Maclaine deserves a mention.

As does Bettie Page.

Wow. She looks like a porcelain doll.

Absolutely yes. So breathtaking.

Also agree with Natalie Wood.

Vivien Leigh was a little too old to make the cut.

Spoke, I certainly can’t argue with your pick of Barbara Eden, but I’m not sure if I would agree if that picture were all I’d seen of her. I mean, she looks nice there, but it doesn’t come close to doing her justice. Any of the pics of her as Jeannie are better.
