Most biased news source in the US?

First listen to somebody give a speech, then listen to Rachel Maddow describe what he said.

Oh c’mon, this isn’t even fucking debatable. Fox News, no question.

On the rare occassion that I feel like being amused, I’ll sometimes tune into Fox News for shits and giggles. You can’t even last more than a few minutes in any Fox News program before being inundated with conservative spin and propaganda. It’s ridiculous.

I get my TV news predominantly from MSNBC, with bits of CNN every now and then. MSNBC leans left, yeah, but as been said, the anchors on that network will at least make their points based on facts and will issue corrections if they’re wrong on something. CNN, if anything, is probably center-right.

It wasn’t listed as one of the choices, but I find the liberal spin on the news as reported by those Sesame Street characters extremely upsetting.

I was going to say a magazine like The Progressive, if that even counts as news, but really, there are lots of weird little partisan-analysis mags. I picked FoxNews.

I’m assuming this poll was created to beat up on Fox yet again. Fox is irritating and biased towards conservatives, sure. That’s a given. But MSNBC is stridently and openly liberal and doesn’t hide it- it’s nearly given up the pretense of being a straight news source in favor of liberal propoganda. That to me makes it more biased than Fox, because Fox’s straight news (the non-commentary shows) isn’t that awful.

And for the record, I believe both channels are entitled to be as biased as they want. But if you want actual news, CNN does a better job than both of them with just being news.

MSNBC is very similar to Fox in the way it weaves it’s editorial content among it’s straight news, but MSNBC does not lie and distort like Fox does regularly. MSNBC doesn’t identify Democratic miscreants as Republicans, while Fox does the opposite all the time.

They also don’t swap out footage from rallies to make them look much larger than they are.

And they don’t post fake footage of violent protests supposedly in Wisconsin in winter showing rows of palm trees in the background.

There’s lots more.

Fox News lies, deliberately. MSNBC doesn’t.

There is nothing in mainstream media that compares with Fox in terms of bias. Even MSNBC which tries to act as counter to them doesn’t make things up.

Wow, easiest poll question ever. Fox “News”.

Actually no. I believe both Fox and MSNBC are equally biased but in opposite directions, and I wanted to essentially see which bias seemed stronger to most here.

Do you have a basis for that belief?

Fox News, which came to my mind before I even clicked on this thread, and it isn’t just because of bias but because of false reporting (too often to just be an error).

Since CNN, Fox and MSNBC all have almost no straight news reporting, only opinion shows, none of those are trying to be unbiased. Even Headline News is mostly opinion and personalities. Their online presence all seem a lot more fact oriented. Thats usually where I go. On my phone I have the apps for CNN, Fox, ABC and BBC as well as my local paper. I rarely look at the talking heads on TV.

Fox’s constant refrain is that their editorial and hard news stuff is totally separate - but their hard news bits are also biased. MSNBC’s editorial stuff is biased, but its hard news isn’t.

In my view, both Fox News and MSNBC are very biased, particularly when it comes to the editorializing, but when just seeing the straight news, I think Fox News is generally okay, certainly not perfect, it’s just that the editorials are the majority of their programming, not just straight news. With MSNBC, I don’t feel like they do as good of a job drawing that line, or perhaps a better way of saying it might be that they do a worse job of it. But overall, I’d say they’re more or less even, but since I value that particular aspect more I voted for MSNBC based on that.

ALL of them are biased, and all of them have an agenda.

And yet… if any one of them ran a major, breaking story at the top of the hour, I’d be EXTREMELY surprised if it turned out not to be true.

They’re all biased, but so what? What I really care about is, are they ACCURATE?

This is a joke if most people think Fox is more biased than MSNBC. CNN is by far the least biased. MSNBC wins hands down in being the most biased. I try to watch sometimes and about all I can stand is about two minutes. I watch Fox and CNN. MSNBC is not only the most biased; it is the most dishonest and their commentators are by far the most obnoxious.

MSNBC is finished. They are now NBC News. Microsoft might be starting their own news platform.

Microsoft and NBC split with MSNBC renaming to NBC News

Yeah, can’t vote for something that no longer exists. There is no more MSNBC.

There’s no more MSNBC**.com**, and even that’s only temporary. The TV network is still MSNBC, and its website will split from NBCNews.com next year.

I think you’ve got Fox and MSNBC switch around by mistake.
