Any other uber-powerful weapon/ armor/ object that you can think of…
I realize that I have included a DC character’s implements along with the otherwise predominantly-Marvel list, so perhaps they should be considered separately. I cannot at the moment recall another comparable weapon in the DC Universe – give me time, I may think of some more!
Silver Surfer’s board - made from the same material as the Surfer; has been destroyed before
Ultron’s Armor - Adamantium
Wonder Woman’s bracelets - magical Silver
Wonder Woman’s lasso - magical Gold
Wolverine’s Claws - Adamantium
The Vibranium-alloy used in Cap’s shield is stronger than Adamantium, but as far as I know Uru has not been tested against it. WW’s equipment is by-definition indestructable, I believe, so would probably win I would guess (unless they were somehow disenchanted).
Well, Ultron’s armor and Wolverine’s claws are both adamantium, so they’re tied. But both have been unmade (and re-made), as has Mjolnir. Cap’s shield, however, has not. Some cosmic-level objects (like the Surfer’s board) might be tied with Cap’s shield, but I don’t think it would make sense for something to be more durable. It’s like the difference between “indestructible” and “indestructible, and I really mean it”.
Offhand I would have to say wonder womans bracelets. Since they were forged by Hephaesteus and from my recollections, anything he made was totally indestructible.
Not really true. Her lasso was also made by Hephaestus, and it got busted up a few years back. (During either Morrison or Waid’s run on JLA, IIRC.) Although that was under rather unusual circumstances, of course. But it was destroyed, and had to be remade, in any case. I don’t recall her bracelets ever being wrecked, though.
If Chronos is right and Cap’s shield’s never been broken, it and Wondie’s bracelets are the only items on the OP’s list that haven’t been destroyed at some point. (Although the others all got better.)
GL’s rings are pretty durable, I believe. The head, at least, of the Atomic Axe is unbreakable pretty much by definition (although I think the handle may have been snapped at least once).

The Atomic Axe sounds familiar! Who wields it – is it one of the Fatal Five (the Legion of Super-Heroes villains)?
Cap’s shield got broken in Secret Wars, IIRC. He managed to fix it by really really really wanting it to get fixed and tapping into the remnants of the Beyonder’s power…
Mjolnir. It was my first thought, before reading the options. I have to go with the Uru Hammer.
The Silver Surfer’s board is an extension of him. If Norrin dies, it goes away.
Ultron’s body & Wolverine’s claws are made of adamantium, which is superhard steel, & not at all unique in the Marvel U.
Captain America’s shield is some kind of vibranium-enhanced super-adamantium, & pretty cool. It is, in at least some stories, unique. Perhaps in time it would be a great ancient artifact like the Uru Hammer. But on the level of where the stories come from, Captain America is symbolic of a culture that will eventually fade away, whereas the power of Thor is transcendent & cosmic. If Thor is gone, Mjolnir can make someone else Thor. I would say that Mjolnir is superior.
As for Wonder Woman’s various artifacts: Isn’t it interesting that you picked two different things? It’s that overkill approach to Wonder Woman that makes so many of her stories ridiculous. In any case, Wonder Woman is talented in herself. Her true power isn’t the bracelets, the lasso, the plane, or the purple ray :hack: :spit:–it’s her capacity to use all this weird stuff, which comes from Amazon or divine technology. They can presumably make more weird stuff. Besides, all the Amazons wear those funky bracelets. Not unique. (The whole bit with Diana’s bracelets supposedly being the Aegis is just screwed up, & doesn’t say much for durability anyway.)
So, at best, Wondy’s lasso & Cap’s shield might tie Thor’s hammer for durability. but Mjolnir is more potent, even a sort of hero in its own right.
Now, the sword Excalibur in Camelot 3000–that’s an amazing weapon.
Thor’s hammer has been seriously damaged in battle at least once. He had it reforged at a steel foundry in New York.
The ability to make any worthy person into Thor is not a characteristic of the metal itself. It’s an enchantment cast upon the hammer by Odin. This is the real reason the Asgardians favor Uru. It isn’t strength, ductility, etc, it’s that Uru holds magic so well.
Adamantium is an incredibly strong metal. Cap’s shield is the only known vibranium/adamantium alloy. You can’t beat the shield.
To be fair, it was detroyed by the Beyonder powered Dr. Doom. In Marvelia, he’s about as high powered as they come.
Here’s my guess from worst to first.
7)Ultrons Armor. It’s just about always getting hammered on just enough to open a crack. Somebody needs to tell Ulty to stop shopping at Big Als House of Discount Adamantium.
6)Silver Surfers board. It’s pretty tough, but it seems to me that just about any cosmic being can break it. I may not be remembering that correctly though.
5)Wolverine’s skeleton. Seems like just about every time that ole Wolvie gets hit by a blast powerful enough to destroy him, his skeleton is the only thing left.
4)Mjolnir. Yeah. This is where things get tough. According to this site, Mjolnir was nearly destroyed and had to be remade. This was in a battle of Asgardians. While godly, they don’t quite reach as high as others.
Wonder Woman’s lasso. Don’t have much to go on here except someone saying upthread that it was detroyed.
2)Captain America’s shield. Adamantium is well nigh unbreakable, and the Vibranium in there is going to absorb a goodly amount of the force of a blow before it even gets to Marvels magic metal. It’s only ever been destroyed by the Beyonder and the Infinite Gauntlet wielding Thanos. There’s a good reason why the shield has made it into just about every Marvel future storyline.
1)Wonder Woman’s bracelets. Not sure if they’ve ever been destroyed.
It’s been established that the only limit on Molecule Man’s power is his own morality and imagination. Fortunately for everybody else, what he really wants is to live an average life in the suburbs with his girlfriend Volcanna.
OTTOMH, Magneto has never attempted to destroy Cap’s shield. Presumably, he wouldn’t have a problem*. His removal of adamantium from Wolverine is well documented.
Except that AFAIK after House Of M, Magneto currently possesses no superhuman abilities.
Trying to argue from previous stories is problematic. An item can be defined as totally unbreakable, & then another writer can decide to break it for shock value. Does that later, iconoclastic story even count?
In the Wonder Woman mythos, the Lasso of Truth is unbreakable. There have been a couple of JLA stories where some reality-bending baddie has broken the lasso, but these are deviations from the concept. A Wonder Woman fan may consider them non-continuity.
Wolverine losing his adamantium because of a strong magnetic field hardly seems likely, considering what had been said about adamantium prior to that. It was a stunt.
I think Cap’s shield was retroactively defined as vibranium/adamantium to explain how he can jump out of planes & land on it, etc.
Doomsday (who beat Superman nearly to death) eventually got nerfed, adamantium got nerfed; anything can be made weaker. Superman & Captain America (& the Gotham Gimp, for that matter) only get enhanced instead of dismissed & weakened because of their status in the eyes of writers & editors.
