Also, I’m surprised “Muskrat Love” hasn’t gotten a mention yet. Did I just miss it?
Obviously you’ve never heard “Howdy Hootie Saperticker”.
I’m contractually obligated to post this.
What’s your real name?
Robert Van Winkle
Why’d you change it?
Nothing rhymes with winkle
Do you listen to any current popular music (or buy into any trends incl. style, fashion, movies, etc)? Because trust me, it will seem just as ridiculous in 15 years.
When I was a teenager I listened to the four album compilation of hers. That really brought back memories!!
I don’t think the song in and of itself is all that funny/bad, but the video is HILARIOUS. Anyone who hasn’t seen it is really missing out. Aside from the bizarrely literal interpretation of the line “turn around bright eyes”, the Children of the Corn boy’s choir, Ms. Tyler’s big '80s hair, and the fact that the whole thing seems to be set at the Gothwood School for the Sexual Exploitation of Young Men, there’s also…NINJAS!
I can’t believe we’re 65 posts in and no one has put up the most unintentionally hilarious music video of all time: Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. How, in this age of rickrolling, can we not have done this yet?
It’s funny, but not a lot of people remember that the video for Holding Out For A Hero is actually even MORE over-the-top and hilarious than the one for TEOTH.
That’s weird, I thought she was black for some reason.
I especially like this Bastard Fairies Cover. Also Rasputina does an interesting cover.
You forgot to include the fact that the dress Ms. Tyler was wearing was sheer enough that you could tell the room temperature of the scenes in the video.

Oh, that reminds me of Don Johnson - Heartbeat. Definitely hilariously bad.
I don’t remember ever even seeing that one before. It IS pretty funny, but I have to give “Total Eclipse of the Heart” the edge if only for the random ninjas. And at least the “Holding Out for a Hero” video bears an obvious relationship to the song’s lyrics – imperiled and inexplicably big-haired frontierswoman cries out for a hero to save her from black-hatted arsonists bearing neon whips.
Nobody will evar top The Night Chicago Died: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-L0NpaErkk
Check out Scott Walker’s “Montague Terrace (in Blue)” on You tube, and get a bucket handy.
Ok, Manduck, I see the gloves have been dropped. Allow me to retort, Dick Dale appears on the Lawrence Welk show, One Toke over the line. And Lawrence Welk calls it a Spiritual.

Just a couple hours ago, I heard “You Got What It Takes.” Here’s a sample of the lyrics:
“Ow! You don’t live in a beautiful place
And you don’t dress in the best of taste
Oh! Nature didn’t give you such a beautiful face
But baby, you got what it takes, Oh! to satisfy
You got what it takes to set my soul on fire”
Anybody who said that to his girlfriend in real life would get a well-deserved kick in the crotch.
What. In the HELL. Were those?!?! I remember both of those songs, but I have mercifully purged those videos from my brain. Thanks.
Yes. :(.
Modern Talking always made me want to modernly talk on the big white phone. Retch!!!
There’s a chance this song contains some NSFW lyrics, but I can’t understand a damn thing he’s saying.
“Here You (That’ll Be Right)” – NEDS Kru featuring The Wee Man
Then there’s always “Fast and Danger” by Ill Mitch.
