Most Memorable Vanity Plates?

10SNE1 (a question)

Y2K BUG (on a new Beetle a couple of years ago)

XYZZY (a magic word)

TRBO JAS (mine, play on car & nickname)

Saw this one back in the eighties on a gold, then-new Cadillac convertible, driven by what looked like a thirty-ish blonde woman:

BLD MNKY

Bald monkey??

My friend and I saw it at the same time and horselaughed all the way back to work.

No need for advertisements, lady!

One of the English professors at my college had GHOTI.

explanation for those who haven’t seen this

On a hummer " Xcessive"

on a porsche " Livin XL"

This silver BMW that parks outside of my complex has plates that read: PNASH. I thought that was pretty smooth.

Cervaise: Huh? I still don’t get it. Is there supposed to be some kind of inside Marx Brothers cult thing there that I am missing?

Saw one on the way home yesterday that about made me gag.

Red VW Beetle - the tag said WUV BUG

[insert barfing smiley]

A classmate in high school took great pride in having his red sports car carry POMPOUS

The link is dead, pleeeze let me in on the secret.

I don’t get the VW bug that says feature, but I’m kinda brain dead today. Could somebody please give my brain a boost?

A VW bug in my ramp has Y2K BUG

A little red sportscar in my neighborhood says X-1. Egotistical if it’s named after Chuck Yeagers experimental plane, funny if taken from Pee Wee’s Big Adventure.

I was driving through Iowa and an old silverhair was driving a land yacht with the license plate PUD ONE. Now, I don’t know about you, but around here Pud is, well, a man’s love potion, IF ya know what I mean.

FJORD was kinda funny on a Ford, which had a Norwegian flag bumper sticker as well.

I saw one a few years ago: IPB4IGO

There are several of the new VW bugs around here with vanity plates: EEKABUG and LOVE, off the top of my head.

There’s also a beautiful 1940 Hudson (I think that’s what it is…) with the plate MY 40.

I’ve seen (in FL)
GORE WON

In NC, I saw
SHIKSA

I’ve always wanted to get one that said GR8 BIG 1

Yep, it’s a 1940 Hudson Six Coupe. Beautiful car.

A common old chestnut in the computer industry is to jokingly refer to a bug in the product as a feature.

“ZVBXRPL” is from the famous scene in A Day at the Races - one of my father’s faves. (“You’re all mine today son - should we watch A Day at the Races or Tora! Tora! Tora!?” :smack:

Saw a wonderfully tricked out Del Sol with the license

GOT SOL

Bumped.

I wouldn’t pay even $5 million for this one:

One here in town, on the car of a woman who does waxing in a salon: BOX WXR.

Saw a Dodge Viper with an MSU vanity plate (Green Block S) and the plate was “SSSSSS”, so it looked like “SSSSSSS”.

I can’t believe I didn’t post this 21 years ago, but VLAD on a nice Chevy Impala.

I used to own UPTO11 (with the small font caption above, “This goes”) until some lowlife stole it.

I reported the theft to police and had to deregister the plate, otherwise run the risk of being repeatedly stopped for driving a supposedly stolen car.

Still looking for another decent cultural reference, although an ex-boss and current mentor has MRWOLF on his Audi - hard to beat that.
