About the only thing I’ve ever lived within ten miles of consistently throughout my life was a convenience store or plaza of some sort. The only time this wasn’t true was a brief 3-month stint when I moved up to Seabright, ON, where there was nothing within 10 miles that Mother Nature didn’t put there.
…People.
I’ve moved around a lot, really.
… A decommissioned Nike missile base.
- The Wright brothers’ home.
- Woodland Cemetery, where the Wright brothers are buried
- The Wright Brothers’ bike shop
- Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum, which contains a big display in memory of the Wright brothers
Believe it or not, living here does get old after a while.
Cows, pigs, horses, goats.
Excepting the 3 years in the country, I’ve never lived more than 3 miles away from my folks.
Always within 10 miles of:
A BP gas station
Multiple libraries
Movie theater
A good barbecue joint.
uh…a…dog?
Every other place I’ve ever lived.
kudzu. lots and lots of kudzu
Renton Highlands, eh? Did you do time in Hazen State Prison by chance? I can put Hendrix within the 4 mile mark as well. And let’s not forget the 737 & 757 (and I think cruise missile) factory.
